Seb could have kicked himself when he switched his phone back on the following afternoon and saw Lily's text.  Literally!  Had she been suggesting what it appeared she'd been suggesting?

He had driven for over four hours to get home to an empty house when he could have spent the night buried between Lily Scott's legs!   He'd definitely shot himself in the foot there.

He immediately dialled her number, but it went straight to voicemail.  She was probably flying home, he told himself.

Needing to expel some energy, he decided to go for a run.  He didn't have to, Antti wouldn't be  back in Switzerland for another couple of hours, and then he'd be coming over for a recovery session, but he needed to do something.

He decided to run through the woods at the back of his property.  He wouldn't bump into anyone there.  Not that anyone who lived local would bother him.  They all respected his privacy, but he just didn't feel like seeing anyone.

After an hour he returned home and tried to call Lily again.  This time her phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's me, Seb," he said.  He heard her laugh softly.

"I know, your name came up," she told him.  He laughed too.

"I got your text." He didn't know what else to say.  He couldn't exactly come straight out and ask her if she'd been suggesting that they fucked.

"You didn't reply," she stated.

"I know, I'm sorry.  I was a bit pissed after the race so I decided to drive home straight after my debrief.  I turned my phone off."

"Oh ok.  I thought you might have been avoiding me."

"Why would I do that?"  Was she crazy?  She was probably the only person that could have made him feel better the day before.  He could have quite easily have forgotten his poor race if he'd been able to taste the honey between Lily's legs, and if she'd allowed him to take her, well he'd have been in heaven.

"Look Seb, I'm gonna have to go. I'm at Heathrow. I just got back to the car and I need to drive home. I'll text you later ok? I will be getting another new number."

"Why? Lily..." But she'd already gone. His mind began to work overtime. Why was she getting another new number? The only reason he could think of was that Liam had managed to get hold of her number and had been pestering her. Surely the police would have put him back inside for that though?

He scowled as he thought about what he'd love to do to that man if he had five minutes alone with him. He wasn't a violent man, only two men ever made him lose his temper.  Lily's ex, and Lily's brother.  He hated it when anyone hurt her physically or emotionally.  It just made him see red.

Still, another month and Liam should be back behind bars.
At least Seb hoped so. If he didn't go to prison then Lily wouldn't be safe.

The day wore on, and soon Antti arrived for their recovery session. Seb's mind wasn't really on what he was meant to be doing however. He kept glancing at his phone, waiting for Lily to text, but by the time he went to bed at 10pm she still hadn't. He sighed. Maybe she'd just forgotten? Maybe she didn't want him to have her number. He didn't know her reasons. He sighed again. Sometimes he thought that he and Lily were not destined to be. There was always something stopping them. His own stupidity, Sofia, Liam, the photo with Zoe.... Maybe he should just focus on his driving and forget all about Lily Scott.

If Lily had thought she was going to have a chance to relax between Monza and Singapore she soon realised she didn't have a chance.
