"I'll fucking kill him! I will rip his fucking head off!" Seb snarled, clenching his fist so tightly that the skin turned white.
"What's going on?" Antti asked.
"Liam," Lily sighed and sat down on one of the breakfast bar stools. "It's got to be him. It's just like the cards he used to send with his flowers and other gifts."
"But I thought he got five years?" Antti said, perplexed by what was happening. "It's been how long? Three?"
"Yeah three, but he could have got parole after serving half his sentence if he behaved himself."
"Surely they'd have told you if he'd been released?" Luca said.
"Obviously not," Lily said. "I wouldn't have been surprised if this had happened in the U.K. but how the hell does he know where I live here?"
"Is there anyone you can ask about him? You know, to see if he has been released?" Antti asked.
"Well I could call my lawyer, but then he'll have to look into it. It could take a few days. I'll do that, but what I can do is message Roary and see what he can find out. He still has mutual friends with him."
Seb scowled and cursed in German as he heard Lily mention her summer fling from the previous year. She held her hand out to take his but he walked over to the sink and stood looking out of the window.
"Roary's a decent guy."
"I never said he wasn't," Seb snapped.
"Luca, let's give them a minute," Antti said. The two trainers left the room.
"There's no need to get shitty. Roary and I....it was just a holiday fling. We've stayed in touch, you know that. It wasn't as if you didn't have another woman."
"I know, I'm sorry. I just hate the thought of any other man touching you."
"But they never will again. You're it for me, you know that right?"
"I know. I can't help it though. I'm so scared of losing you." It was the first time he'd admitted how insecure he felt to her.
"You won't." Lily knew that her continued reticence to tell Seb she loved him wasn't helping the situation but she just couldn't say it.
"I hate the thought that Liam is going to pop back up and make your life hell again. I saw what you went through before."
"This time it's different Seb. This time I have you. I'm in a different country. Once the police learn what he's doing they'll probably seize his passport or send him back down to finish his sentence."
"You need to tell them," he said insistently.
"I will, but first I need to make sure he has been released. I don't want to make a fool out of myself if he's still inside."
"Who else could it be?"
"I don't know, maybe someone from Ferrari that's pissed off with me for leaving and using my past with Liam as a weapon. Maybe even Damon now he can't use our relationship against me." She held her hand out again. "Come here."
Seb walked over to her and kissed her softly. "Text Roary," he said.
Lily picked her phone up off of the table and began to compose a message.
Lily: Hi Roary, hope you're well. I need to ask you a favour. I know you haven't kept in contact with Liam, but is there any chance you can ask one of your mutual friends if he's been released? It's just I had some flowers sent to me and the note was like the notes he used to send. I haven't been told he's out and I want to know for sure before I go speaking to the police.
