The world was still spinning by the time he woke up. But due to an entirely different reason, the boy noted.
He noted his location, noticing the unfamiliar room first.
The hospital, perhaps? No...it seemed too empty for that.
"You're at the infirmary." Came Chuuya's voice, making him jump. Shit.
"Now...then. Shall we get to it?" The man mumbled, something about the air feeling suffocating all of a sudden.
"Get to it?" He croaked out, as he leaned on his elbow, to get a better look at the redhead to his right, gulping. Did he know already?
"What happened once you ran off and after Kyouka?"
Oh.
"Well..." There were two choices here. Lie and pray to a deity that by some magic you don't get caught, tell the truth or remain silent. And none of those choices seemed like the right one.
"I...I failed." He simply said instead, as he covered his eyes. He really hated the way his skin crawled as he even thought of his employer being disappointed in him. He just about managed to get off of the streets but he was already fucking it up for himself.
Although, he didn't exactly regret letting the girl go, per say.
"I need a detailed verbal report. And a written one later on. Don't try and wiggle your way around this." The executive sighed, as he leaned back into the chair and threw his hat down against the desk.
Fuck it.
"Me and Akutagawa had a small argument about the mission and how we should deal with it." He let out, as he looked at his executive, fear, nervousness, yet a stupid sort of boldness coming over him all at once.
"We ended up deciding that we'd separate our plan into two parts." Perhaps it was the thoughtful hum, or the way that the blue eyes hardened, but the knead in his throat grew in size. "Firstly, I got to try the peaceful resolution, since I feared what would happen if our agencies clashed." He began, but got interrupted.
"And what makes you think that you can just decide like that? If I allow violence to be used, you need to listen ." The executive groaned, gloved hand going through the messy red hair. "You're in the mafia now, Atsushi. You won't be able to just peacefully resolve shit."
"I'm very well aware of that, Chuuya-san. But you've also said that we shouldn't fully resort to violence right away." He reminded, as he glared back.
"But, since that clearly didn't work, due to both my team and the ADA's agents, Kunikida and Yosano, we ended up going with his instead." The tiger shrugged, as he sat up with a grimace, and scooted closer to the wall. "We tried to beat the answers out of the agents. Which in turn, made our runaway member show up from her hiding."
