Atsushi's eyes opened and closed as he sat in their office, listening to his teammates and their suggestions on how to keep him and Akutagawa safe during their trip.
One thing that he was concerned about is the fact that it was pretty much confirmed in their minds that the man would try out the product before he buys it.
Their target was a rather ruthless man, who didn't hesitate to harm his team and his subordinates and he didn't really know if he could stand still and watch him erase someone's ability like that.
He was told that all of the man's subordinates were as monstrous as him and that he shouldn't feel much guilt when it came down to it, but he was still quite fearful of his own morale making him rush in and do something utterly idiotic.
"I need you to be complainant during this mission Jinko and I need your head in the game." Akutagawa mumbled under his breath, seemingly concerned even more about this mission than usual, which did strike him as odd.
"As always, I'll try my best. You too, don't rush in until absolutely necessary." The tiger mumbled as he ran a hand through his hair, remembering the text he got last night.
'Can't wait to see you again :)'
It was ominous and it was creepy. As terribly annoying as the man himself. Their target seemed to have some form of interest in him and he didn't quite know if that was good or bad for their mission.
On one hand, if he was infatuated enough with him, perhaps he'd go easier on him and maybe his slip ups would go unnoticed by the guy.
On the other hand, he did not feel like getting kidnapped again.
"Since our meeting is over, may I head out?" He sighed, as he slouched in the chair, feeling rather excited to leave.
It wasn't like he didn't like being at the office, but he did have plans today.
Kunikida texted him and asked him if he would mind meeting up with Kyouka the agency, since the girl missed him and wanted to hang out with him.
And he accepted, after deliberating it with Dazai and Chuuya. He was told that he did not need their permission for anything, let alone to hang out with a friend, but he still wanted to at the very least discuss meeting with the people who basically took one of their members away before actually going over there.
According to Chuuya, he was allowed to do anything he wanted in his private time, unless it would start a war, harm the PMs image, or harm him in any way shape or form.
Which were some pretty standard rules in his opinion.
"Sure. I don't know what got your panties in such a twist to leave though." Akutagawa rolled his eyes, as he crossed his arms and leaned against the desk.
"Perhaps our boy is busy with his lover !" Tachihara cheerily whistled, as he put his arm around the tiger and made the said young man freeze on the spot.
"No, I mean," He began in a panic, because although he indeed was in a relationship, he did not want to go public about it. Especially because this was a relationship between him and their boss and their executive.
He was grateful that Higuchi seemed to keep things to herself because quite frankly he didn't know how he'd react if suddenly the whole organisation knew who he was dating.
"Please, Jinko has the charisma of a dead lizard." The raven unhelpfully rolled his eyes, making him glare at the man.
"I'll have you know that I do in fact have partners." He sighed, before he could stop himself.
Tachihara blinked beside him, before giving him a wolfish grin, as he punched his arm.
"Partners?" The redhead chuckled, as he hugged him closer. "Our dearest new member has not one, but multiple bitches!" He continued, causing Atsushi to flush brightly and avert his gaze.
"I wouldn't call them.... bitches, Tachihara-kun. They're great people." The tiger sighed, as he looked at Akutagawa, who seemed to be looking right back at him with wide eyes.
Serves him right. The only one who was single here was him . He pretty much knew that Tachihara and Gin had a thing going on between them, and whilst he didn't really want to get into office drama he also knew that that was the reason why Akutagawa got onto Tachihara's ass so much.
"Who are they? Tell us, you have to let us meet them!" His coworker continued to tease him, as he politely refused the offer and pushed the man back a bit.
"I don't think we're...ready for that kind of thing. Maybe...later on?" The tiger politely spoke, as he thought about what kind of absolute chaos that would cause.
"Ugh. Fine! But, as soon as you're ready, you gotta invite us all to dinner! And, you'll be the one paying." The redhead chuckled, as he ruffled Atsushi's hair, making the boy grin and nod.
"Now, if you don't mind, I have to head out." Atsushi sighed, as he got up and stretched, getting soft byes out of everyone but Akutagawa, who was still puzzled by the fact that he managed to score anybody, let alone more than one person.
The way Ryūnosuke got confused by him having any sort of charisma or talent was as entertaining as it was annoying.
As he was exiting, he saw someone who still made him awkward ever since that fateful moment with Dazai and his issue of public affection.
Higuchi.
"Uh...Atsushi-kun, may I...ask you something?" The girl quietly muttered under her breath, as she brought the stack of papers she was holding closer to her chest.
A singular curious brow raised.
"Can...."
" CanyoupleaseaskDazai-santogivemeamissionwithAkutagawa-san!" She breathed out, and he didn't get a word out of that.
"What?" The tiger blinked, as he tapped the hyperventilating woman on her shoulder, helping her calm down.
"What...what i mean is...can you ask Dazai-san if he...if he would be so kind as to put me on a mission with Akutagawa-san." She mumbled after she calmed down a bit, eyes genuinely filled with hope.
God, he needed to think about that sort of thing.
He would do it just to spite Akutagawa since his socially awkward ass would absolutely hate him for it, which would be amusing, but then again it would kind of breach his privacy and make Atsushi sort of an asshole.
"I just...since you're close, I would just like to try." She mumbled, as she looked away and tucked a strand of blond hair behind her ear. "I don't know, but seeing how you managed to get with the boss...maybe anything is possible, right?"
"Not that, not that I mean that in a derogatory way towards you but!" The young lady shouted in embarrassment, and he sighed, as he released his hand from her shoulder and nodded.
"Fine, I'll see what I can do." Atsushi re-informed, feeling her literally jump to hug him, almost making them both fall to the ground.
" Easy !" The tiger couldn't help but yelp, as he grabbed the girl to help her keep her balance. "Thank you! So much!" She sobbed in relief and happiness, and he couldn't help but smile at that.
She was quite nice. Maybe she could help his brooding bastard of a coworker catch some of that positivity.
