Dazai asked him if he wanted an additional day off, due to stress, but he denied it. After all, slacking off will do him nothing good.
Besides, distracting himself and burying himself in work seemed more efficient than just staring into four walls and a screen, with nothing but stress present on his mind.
His eyes trailed down the list of tasks for today for their faction, their schedule quite packed.
They had to go over some mission they've received, to try and decide their positions for the most recent one. The mission itself was to infiltrate the auction, to try and find one of their ex partners who seemed to betray the contract that they've had with the PM in favour of doing, as said, their own thing on the side.
That's not all, but additional information form the database went missing right after their small little visit.
The catch about the mission was the fact that their team had to be split apart for it. They would all go through in both disguise and with false identities, so as to not let the person they were "hunting" know of their affiliation immediately.
They would have to not only hunt him down and catch thepman, but they also couldn't exactly do it at the auction itself. One of them was to go in as bait, just to strike a "deal" with him, and talk of a location where they could meet for the transaction.
The plan was simple. They bid a few times on an item that the breaker of their contract wants, then talk to him and try to sell it to him at slightly higher, but not as high as the higher bidding price they'd have to pay at the auction, just for extra cash to seem like a simple con-man.
Another one of them had to be near, tailing the first, to ensure safety in case shit went south.
While the other two had a bit of a harder task. One was to track team A's location from the van, by the tracker that would be put onto the two and the last, well, the last was to monitor everything through the camera and the microphone strapped on them back from the PM headquarters.
And they, well they got the privilege of choice on whose task is what.
Atsushi would rather be the bait than deal with any of the rest of the tasks. He wasn't tech savvy at all, and he didn't trust himself enough to monitor anyone, let alone to jump in in case anything went wrong.
So he was going to pitch that eventually. They still had around a week to figure it out, he was just trying to be cautious and check all the possibilities before rushing into a decision.
They also got an old blueprint and layout of the building the auction was going to be held at.
Yes, these days there were online auctions but there were also more traditional ones in the dark corners of Yokohama as a sick kind of a tradition.
He checked those out as well. If shit went south, there was a high chance that the blueprints themselves wouldn't be of much help, especially if the event was packed, but they could still use the knowledge of the building to their advantage for a quick escape, if needed.
Then, as for the things scheduled today, they had a meeting at two, with Chuuya to discuss their respective findings, and current plan for the mission, the one who most likely will be reporting the findings though, will be Akutagawa, because even tho the man is an emotionally dumb jerk, he could still find out anything you ask of him in a matter of seconds if he wishes, training at five and then private meeting for the work related topics, such as his work performance and progress in the company as a whole.
And as the clock finally came around to two, he couldn't help but sigh.
The path to Chuuya's office was long and boring, and he could already hear Tachihara and Akutagawa argue as they entered right before him.
