Atsushi sighed in relief as they arrived back home. The party was great , and he had a lot of fun, especially with Tachihara and him making jokes about Akutagawa only for the raven to get pissed with them.
It was even funnier to watch Akutagawa burn in shame in front of Dazai as he tried to hide his outfit in embarrassment, hell, even Chuuya teased him about the outfit, even if he was the one to pick it.
He couldn't help the smile that grazed his features as he remembered Dazai and Chuuya sharing random stories from their mutual missions, even ones with a young Akutagawa, about how clumsy Akutagawa was the first time he joined.
It made him see his teammate as more of a…human, and less of a bastard.
Even the slight arguments that him and Akutagawa had were less malicious and more just…them teasing each other, like friends would.
Dare he say it, Akutagawa seemed a bit less of a heartless asshole than he originally thought.
But, he did feel like the party was just too big for him.
So, as he watched his drunk boss and even drunker executive argue about which show they should watch, he couldn't help but chuckle, eyes landing on the duo fondly.
"Absolutely not ! I'm not going to watch your dumbass fucking chess tournament, you ass!" The redhead groaned as he snatched the remote from his hand and threw himself on the couch beside Atsushi, causing the couch to creak.
"Please, shortie, if I have to watch a second of your favourite cooking show I'm really going to kill myself!" The brunet whined in turn, as he sat on Atsushi's other side and laid across his lap, to try and snatch the remote away from the shortest of the trio.
"Be my guest!" Chuuya rolled his eyes, and switched the channels, to which their boss just pouted and let out the fakest of cries up to date.
"Atsu, see how mean he is to me?! Won't you comfort me!" The man sobbed, as he reached out a hand for Atsushi, to pull him closer by the tie, causing a flush to spread across his unsuspecting face.
"Dazai-san, you're a grown man." The boy rolled his eyes, but still allowed his thighs to be used as a pillow, as he reached out a hand, to take the one on his tie off.
But, as he saw the smirk, he knew he just got fucking caught.
Just as he thought, the man refused to release his hand, instead, he only smirked up at Atsushi like a cat, eyes glinting in the light, mostly coming off of the TV and the night light that turned on by itself whenever nightfall came, since they didn't exactly press the light switch upon their arrival, due to the two being too drunk and him being too exhausted.
He brought his and Dazai's joined hands to the man's chest, as he realized that he fell right into Dazai's trap, sighing in defeat.
The tiger had no energy to argue right now.
"Hey, that's not fucking fair. Give me affection too, goddamnit." The redhead growled, before laying his head atop the tiger's shoulder and making the boy flush even further.
He kind of wished he, too , was drunk. Because a sober Atushsi could not handle these two overgrown toddlers.
"Why are the two of you so childish whenever you get drunk?" The boy found himself mumbling, as he trailed his hand to support Chuuya's shoulder, as he felt him almost slip off.
"Am not. That's all that dumb bandaged fuck over there. I'm just tired." The redhead rolled his eyes, as he turned up the volume on the cooking show and pushed himself closer to Atsushi, with Dazai pouting because he didn't get enough attention from Atsushi and rubbing his hand to get it.
"Can you pet my hair again? Felt real nice yesterday." The sleepy brunet in his lap mewled, as he stared up at Atsushi like a pitiful, kicked puppy.
"I…sure." The boy muttered, as he began running his fingers through the, by now, messy brown locks, getting nudged by the redhead on his other side, to do the same.
Why the hell was he here, cradling his two drunk superiors like a preschool teacher would their little students?
He just rolled his eyes, at the obvious competitive nature the duo had, and began running his fingers through both of their hair, feeling rather tired himself.
Chuuya's hair felt surprisingly silky, whilst Dazai's had more of a…fluffy feel to it. The contrast between the two was really nice, the boy noted, as he teased a strand of brown and then red, looking at the exhausted duo.
Dazai's eyes were barely open, while Chuuya seemed to completely close his, and cuddle even closer.
Their boss turned in his lap, and got more comfortable, his breath a bit too warm against Atsushi's inner thigh, but the tiger couldn't complain, at least not in this weather.
They are like a cat and a dog, basically.
He chuckled at the thought, and focused back on the show they were watching, the katsudon one of the chefs were making, seeming a bit overcooked.
Then, he remember the reason his two superiors were arguing in the first place.
Even though Chuuya and Dazai fought so hard over the remote, neither of them gave the TV much attention, instead, they closed their eyes on their respective part of the Atsushi-pillow and relaxed.
And the tiger, well, he just yawned and leaned back against the couch, eyes blinking to stay awake as he watched the show, curiously, but with only half of his attention present.
His nose scrunched by itself at the strong smell of the alcohol in the air, before he relaxed again, and melted further into the couch.
He kind of got used to the smell of alcohol that always lingered around these two, but he couldn't help the slight ring of concern for them, as the realization hit.
Atsushi spent less than a week and was already used to the strong beverage smell.
Atsushi spent less than a week and was already used to the strong beverage smell.
"You two better not wake up with a hangover." He found himself muttering, under his breath, as he began to hear light snoring, first from his lap, and after a few minutes, from his shoulder.
The tiger just continued to pet them, nonetheless, tired fingers combing through different textures of hair and his own eyes struggling to stay open.
Atsushi could bet that his back would ache tomorrow if he fell asleep here. Yet, he didn't have it in him to wake the men up and move away to his own room. Instead, he leaned his head against Chuuya's, almost unconsciously, and allowed his hands to finally stop.
One around Chuuya's shoulder, and the other hugging over Dazai, protectively.
A funny thought passed through his head, as his consciousness began to slip.
The tiger felt like their damned mom , not an employee. The thought made him smile, and the fog behind his eyes finally spread through his body, making him fall asleep.
