"Ugh, get the hell out Jinko." The raven groaned, as he shifted awkwardly in the hospital room, clearly in pain.
The tiger rolled his eyes at his behaviour and set down the bag of fresh clementines, before he looked at the man's overall health chart.
"Snooping? Are you serious ?" Akutagawa growled, but he paid it no mind. Overall, the bastard was alright, and that did make him relieved. The only thing that seemed off on the paper was the previous illnesses list, which had a chronic lung disease written down on it.
That explained the coughs, at the very least.
"They're rich in vitamins. And they're good for you. So eat one, Akutagawa." The tiger mumbled, as he set the chart down and peeled one of the fruits, getting a glare of suspicion.
"Don't get all wishy on me. I did not save you because I wanted to." Akutagawa rolled his eyes again, making him actually want to murder him. "God I know you didn't, which is why I'm being nice, you dick." The tiger bit out, shoving a piece of the fruit down Akutagawa's throat, half hoping he'd choke and finally shut his trap.
"Mf' yw twe dick." The man said, through the fruit that he tried swallowing down, which registered inside of Atsushi's brain as you're the dick , but he paid no mind to the insult and continued to feed the man, until he finished an entire one.
"Now, I'm here to apologise and tell you that no matter what they tell you, if you ever try that shit again I'll kill you my damned self." The younger of the two bit out, getting an unamused glare. "I follow orders damn well, but only from those in a higher position than me, not some pests." The raven smiled, making his eye twitch.
"Now, listen here you," He began, before taking a deep breath. Arguing with Akutagawa might be one of the few things to make his day but still. Since the man was still hurt, partially by his fault, he'd take a different approach. "Dazai-san approved my request. It's been added to my contract that no one will have the obligation nor requirement to jump in for me. So, I'm just telling you this out of precaution." The boy finally decided to say as he wiped his hands clean against the hem of his coat.
"Still. I'd listen to Dazai-san's orders no matter what you say."
He hated to say that he felt jealousy burn inside of his stomach at the obsessive behaviour towards Osamu, from Ryūnsouke.
Atsushi half wanted to tell Akutagawa to keep his one sided crush to himself, and that Dazai already had someone, but he held his tongue.
"You're not going to, actually. And I don't care how much you care for Dazai-san, this is my personal decision." The tiger shrugged, turning around to leave, getting an eye roll in turn.
"You don't know shit about how far back me and Dazai-san go."
Oh. That, although it made him jealous, also gave him a great idea.
"Do tell then." He egged on, as he turned back ever so slightly, with a challenging, mocking glint in his eye.
Frustration and genuine anger lit up Akutagawa's pale face.
Bingo.
"Even during the time Mori lead us, I was there, by Dazai-san's side, before you even knew how to wipe your nose properly, I was under Dazai-san's leadership as his subordinate." Oh. Mori. Mori....where has he heard that name?
Right. The previous mafia boss. He wanted to...he wanted to dig more. Wanted to find out more. But he mentally noted the name, in case he had to do that digging on one of the computers in the office.
Now, the reason for his curiosity was simply the fact that he felt as if there was a reason for the whole mafia kissing the feet of the two current leaders. And that there was a reason why the two were as messed up as they were.
This could help him understand both of his partners and even some teammates and coworkers.
He needed more knowledge on the organisation, and whilst he could ask the ADA, that didn't feel quite right.
Asking Gin was out of the question since the woman was determined to keep it hush. Asking Kouyou was terrifying and he'd rather cut his tongue out instead of talking to that lady.
So, he'd just squeeze information out of the raven for now and try and dig some things up on his own.
"Mori? Who the hell is that?" With that in mind, he asked, as he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, watching as Akutagawa realized his slipup.
"Of course you don't know. Why would they trust the likes of you with the past of the port mafia." Akutagawa grinned smugly in turn, making him almost punch the injured man in the face. Instead he simply smiled as he tilted his head, getting a curious look in turn.
"They didn't want to make me consider quitting which is why they didn't give me any info on the past of our organisation." He mocked, knowing that he wasn't really exaggerating it, but still feeling like shit for his words. He just needed to push Akutagawa's buttons in all the right way, to get him going. "In case you haven't noticed, Dazai-san favours me. " That pale face twisted in anger, as Akutagawa gripped the sheet around him.
"I'm pretty sure even the birds surrounding the office's windows can tell by now."
That's what made Akutagawa grab him by the collar and almost make him stumble.
"What the birds can't tell you is that I was the one to bandage him up after every harsh punishment," Akutagawa began, his hold tight and choking, yet the words made Atsushi realize just what purpose those bandages served. "I was the one to watch him suffer at Mori's hands, in worse ways than your pathetic ass could ever suffer," Another tug, and those words did make him even more curious as to how far the previous boss really pushed Osamu to make Akutagawa feel as angry by his actions.
" I was the one who stuck around even as Mori tried to isolate him from every living being and I was the only one who stuck by his side even when he'd torture me, to get his rage out." He got two important notes out of that.
First was the fact that Osamu was apparently held as a marionette by the previous boss, kept in a glass aquarium, and two, was that Akutagawa has been the unfortunate victim of Osamu's rage in the past.
He wondered. Was that what made Akutagawa so....fucking terrible? And into such a bootlicker?
He also wondered if there was some Stockholm syndrome or some trauma bonding going on between Akutagawa and Dazai. Was that why Osamu avoided Akutagawa like the plague?
"Get your hands off of me, Akutagawa. I'm not going to fight an injured man, no matter how much of a jerk he is." The tiger rolled his eyes, as he smacked that hand away and walked towards the exit of the room, head swirling with thoughts.
He came in with questions, got the answers but came out with more than a thousand more thoughts than before.
Who was Mori? Where was he now? Was he dead? Just how terrible was he? What kind of messed up things did he do to Osamu? How many had to suffer under his hands for them to consider Osamu so much better than that....terrible, terrible beast?
Who...who was that man, in the picture inside of Osamu's private home office? Why did Osamu always seem so....estranged and so eerily stuck in his head?
And the biggest of them all...how the hell does he help Osamu, even though he can barely help himself?
-RAN:Nah because Nakajima is just now realizing just how mf deep in shit he is lmao 🤞🤞🤞
