Pip hugged his knees tightly as fat tears spilled down his cheeks. He'd been bawling for about an hour straight at this point, feeling completely disgusted and let down with himself for trusting Mysterion so easily.
When the doctor returned, Pip rejected him and the food he brought almost immediately, practically begging him to be left alone. He didn't want to speak to anyone and just wanted to wallow in his misery. Liam accepted his proposal and left, knowing the teenager was under a lot of stress, even though he wasn't sure what had brought on this particular bout.
Kenny knows EVERYTHING.
Pip sobbed harder, covering his eyes. The memories of his time with Mysterion and his run-ins with Kenny McCormick had started blending into one now that he was really thinking about it, displaying several warning signs the Brit knew he should have picked up on earlier as his worlds collided all at once.
He just felt so hurt. Betrayed. The pain radiating from his heart was severe enough for Pip to cup his chest, thinking it was going to burst, and his breathing increased to the point he realized he couldn't stop. He was hyperventilating. His lips started tingling and his head became fuzzy.
M-Mysterion has been so nice and supportive and- kind so h-how could he possibly be- be- be- HIM?
Pip struggled to keep his cries under control. Mysterion had been everything to him, and now that was apparently a lie because there was no way in hell that Kenny McCormick would EVER give a rat's ass about Pip at all. Kenny was mean, and cold. He'd been the enigma in Stan's group and Pip had always been wary of him. He scared him. Kenny was aloof, distant, and mysterious.
The same as Mysterion.
Pip physically heaved, but nothing came up. He trembled violently.
Feeling bowled over by sickness, Pip struggled to get out of his bed to make his way to his private bathroom. His body screamed at him to stay still, his numerous breaks and contusions becoming sore through the movement, but Pip shoved himself out of bed anyway and wobbled over to the side room. Thoughts were whirling around his mind at an unstoppable pace - so much so that Pip thought he was going to pass out.
Mysterion isn't real. Mysterion's never been real. He never cared about me. Kenny never cared about me. Why would he? He's one of the most popular guys in school, and now he knows EVERYTHING about you. When he tells his friends, you're done for. This is what you get for trusting people you IDIOT!
Pip doubled over, his tears flowing fast and free.
"Are you okay?"
A fresh set of tears pricked in his eyes when he recognized the gruff voice which had unceremoniously entered the room. Pip let out a strangled gasp. He quickly shook his head, not wanting- not believing that the person who had broken his heart; shredded his soul; eviscerated his trust, was now standing in his open room window arch, cape flowing behind him towards the snowy skyline of South Park.
WHY NOW?
Pip struggled into a standing position and leant against the wall, his breathing escalating. He didn't even want to look at him. He couldn't.
Why was he even here? To rub it in?
"Philip, look at me."
His comforting voice made Pip's heart ache. He slowly turned and stared at the vigilante with blurry wide eyes, trying to get his explosive thoughts and emotions under control.
"I-I... y-you..." Pip stammered, mouth completely dry. He couldn't speak.
"You should be in bed." Mysterion replied monotonously, not quite realizing why Pip was acting so freaked out. Seeing Pip's numerous bandages for the first time since bringing him to the hospital, he balled his fists to restrain his anger. He slid out of the window arch and landed in front of Pip.
