Pip sat on his bed with his arms in his lap, his heart racing. Kenny had gone home a few hours ago and since then Pip had been feeling an impending sense of danger and worry. He thought it may have been because of him revealing some more tidbits about his past to his friend, but he wasn't exactly sure.
Was he scared of being alone now? Is that what it was?
He ran his fingers over the scar on his neck. For one thing he couldn't believe he'd actually admitted to hurting himself to Kenny. All he'd really done is clumsily stick a shard of glass into his neck until he bled, and probably in the wrong place too because he didn't even know where his voice box was.
It just proved he even failed at self-harming.
Pip felt tears building up in his eyes for no apparent reason and he clung onto the bed sheets to give himself some form of comfort. He didn't know why he was feeling so freaked out. He just wanted Kenny back. The thought that he wanted Kenny back freaked him out further. He was growing attached. Clingy. He needed to stop it.
But he just missed him so much.
Pip threw his bed covers off him and wobbled to his feet. He stood up and waddled over to the window, wary eyes looking at the people below. He never realized how high his room was before. No wonder Mysterion found it easy to come inside.
'Stop thinking about him!' Pip's mind screamed at him.
He sighed and leant against the window ledge, resting his head in his arms which were laid out on it. He watched the gentle flakes of snow fall through the air and sighed again. He really felt at a loose end at the hospital. He was used to doing chores and working hard, not sitting around doing nothing.
His heart rate increased again and Pip stood up straight, hugging his arms. Something really didn't feel right.
A knock at the ward door broke into the room's silence, causing Pip to completely freeze up. He remained where he was even when the door opened, and his eyes became as wide as saucers.
"Hey Frenchie."
It took everything in Pip's willpower not to have a heart attack on the spot.
"Um... h-hi..."
Stan, Kyle and Cartman waltzed into the room, letting the door slam behind them. Pip seized up and found he couldn't breathe.
"So the rumours were true. You are in hospital." Kyle started. "We just saw your name on the door."
Pip didn't know why they were there but he wanted them to disappear. He nodded slowly.
"Forget that! We just wanted to know if you've seen Kenny lately."
"K-K-Kenny?"
"Yeah, we haven't seen much of him around so we went to his house and his sister said he's been coming here a lot." Stan explained.
"Oh..."
"Has he?" Cartman demanded.
Pip couldn't think straight. "Has h-he what?"
"Come here?"
Pip didn't know what to say. Did Kenny's real friends know about his friendship with Pip? Had he told them? Probably not, as that just wouldn't go down well. Pip decided to maintain the facade.
"I-I don't know."
"You don't know?" Stan replied, exasperated. "It's a simple question."
"Have you seen him at all? With a doctor maybe?" Kyle offered.
"What?" Pip was even more confused now.
"We're just a bit worried about him, that's all. He's been in and out of hospitals before so..." Kyle trailed off, thinking of his friends' tumultuous parents. "We're just a little worried."
