"Um, excuse me-"

"No Frenchies allowed."

"But-"

"No Frenchies allowed!"

Pip sighed as the door to the changing room slammed in his face. It was the second time that week he'd been kicked out of there by the boys and the second time he'd have to use the female one. Stung, Pip carried his kit down the corridor towards the female chatter. He felt his heart sink as his knocked on the door, not wanting to intrude and casually walk in on his classmates.

The door opened and Heidi greeted him with a glare. "They kick you out again?"

He nodded.

Heidi rolled her eyes, "Wonderful." She didn't hold the door open, letting it snap at him as she made her way back inside. He pushed it open and followed her with unease. "Same place as before. Stay there until we've all left." she said.

He shuffled inside the room and kept his eyes on the floor as he made his way to the back where none of the girls were. He felt himself blush as they laughed at him through their whispers, making him more uncomfortable than ever.

"Ew, it's Pip!"

"Fuckin' French piece of crap."

"Why's he so weird?"

"Loser!"

"Pervert!"

He stopped in the shower section of the room which was shielded by a wall, allowing the girls their privacy. Feeling too embarrassed to undress, he just sat and waited for them to leave. He wasn't feeling up to anything anyway so waiting was probably the best option. Their noise soon started to quieten, a sure sign the girls were leaving the room. He loosened his tie and sighed, wondering if it was even worth bothering to go to lesson.

"Hey, Pip?"

He jumped at Wendy peering her head around the wall. "Are you okay?"

He felt his chest tighten and his face began to heat up again. He really wasn't worth her time so didn't understand why she wanted to talk to him. He gave a brief nod.

Wendy couldn't help but feel sorry for her classmate. He was constantly degraded by the others and just accepted it without a word. She wished she could do more to help him but knew of the dangers but swore to herself she'd try harder. "Okay. I'll leave you to it, then." she went to turn away, but a small voice called her back.

"Thank you." Pip said quietly, head down.

Wendy smiled solemnly and left him to it.

Pip leant his head against the wall and hugged his knees, deciding to skip gym class after all. His emotions were having a field day and were all over the place. He was tense and worried but since talking to Wendy he just felt guilty. Guilty for wasting her time. Kenny's time. Mysterion's time. They deserved better.

He always messed things up.

He self-consciously rubbed his wrist, remembering what Kenny had forced on him earlier. He didn't know how his classmate had found out about his scars but it made him feel vulnerable. Exposed.

Why would he just... question me like that?

Pip slowly peeled back the bandage on his arm to reveal his cigarette burns. They weren't important. They were just a mistake. Forgive and forget and all that, but Kenny seemed to think they were more serious. Important.

But I'm not... important.

He hugged his knees and rested his head on them, feeling himself drifting in and out of sleep. He felt so tired, stressed and anxious. He just wanted to go home. At least there nobody would laugh at him.
