Wendy sat in her room at her vanity set, scribbling a selection of notes over her homework. Her head deep in thought, she didn't notice the approaching vigilante climbing up the side of her house until she was eventually stirred from her thoughts when she heard a tap at her window. At first she ignored it, but the sound progressively became louder and louder.

She circled around in her desk chair to see the hooded Mysterion crouched at her window, snow swirling around him in the blustery wind. She quickly walked over to it and yanked it open, allowing him to slide inside.

"Mysterion? What brings you here?" her surprise was evident.

He stood tall, cape elegantly sweeping down his shoulders. "I wanted to talk to you. School no longer feels safe for me to do so without judgement."

"I understand." Wendy replied, a sinking feeling in her heart. She already knew what this conversation would be about as she'd been having the same thoughts.

She just didn't feel quite ready for it yet.

Mysterion dusted himself off. "So, um, how have you been doing?"

"Okay, I think. Busy with my student council duties. I've come up with a bullying agenda that I'm hoping can be discussed and passed to help those afflicted. I... suppose it's a little too late though."

"At least you're trying."

"I still feel responsible. It's my fault Pip endured such horrific treatment for so long. I was too stupid not to do anything." Wendy exhaled.

"School was only partly to blame, Wendy. You had no idea about his other circumstances. Neither did I."

"How... how is he doing?" she asked.

"He's doing better, thanks. He's recently received some happy news which made his year so I'd say he's on the up and up." Mysterion nodded.

"I'm so happy for him. He deserves the world."

Mysterion smiled as she echoed his own words and sentiments. He sure was going to miss that about her.

"So, Wendy? There's a reason I came here to talk to you." he cleared his throat.

Wendy turned away from him. "I... I know."

"You... know?" he raised an eyebrow. "Huh. You always were perceptive."

"I know." she smiled sadly.

"So... yeah. I... don't think it's safe... for Kenny to keep seeing you."

"I'd... sort of reached the same conclusion." she sighed, head low.

Mysterion leveled with her. "The truth is... ultimately Stan is my friend. I know he's been a dick to both of us but I feel so wrong doing this behind his back. Even Kyle who can be dense as fuck sometimes is getting suspicious now. And if Kyle suspects anything he'll go straight to Stan. I can't- I can't risk losing them as friends. The heat is getting worse. It was fine before but... everyone else is clocking on. Kenny can't keep doing this. I can't keep doing this."

Wendy's heart sank. She knew he was right and that's probably why it hurt so much but it still depressed her. She cupped her arm with her other, suddenly becoming shy. "Do you... regret anything?"

Mysterion's eyes widened and he jumped to her defence. "God no! No Wendy, you're stunning! I can say with confidence that you're literally the most beautiful, intelligent girl in our school and I've loved every minute with you! You're funny, you're witty and super pretty! You're just... perfect." he mused, turning away from her. "But... you're too good for Kenny. You're too good for... me."
