Pip felt really fucking shitty.

He was a complete wanker. A tosser. A bastard. A bellend. Scum. Lowest of the low. He'd turned his back on his new friend. His ONLY friend. The only friend he'd probably ever have. The only person who'd ever cared about him. Mysterion. He'd run away from him out of pure spite. He was horrible. He deserved everything bad in the world.

He was an awful, awful person.

After bailing and leaving Mysterion to fight crime the previous evening, Pip had made his way over to Stark's Pond, knowing that would be the last place the hero would try and look for him - if Mysterion wanted to spend his precious time looking for him in the first place.

Pip had curled up on top of one of the benches and damn near froze to death in the chilling winds blowing against the unsheltered beauty spot. He'd hardly gotten any sleep because of it and now he generally felt like crap. All he wanted to do was curl up into a ball and just... cry.

Wearily, Pip made his way down the main school corridor. It was early so he didn't expect anyone to be around to yell at him yet. He slowly slid over to his locker and unlocked the door. He stared aimlessly at his books on the top shelf, trying to remember what day it was and what lessons he had. After deciphering that it was a Wednesday, Pip pulled out his Maths book which he dropped by accident. He took a long, hard look at the book before kneeling down to pick it up. Pip stood up and really considered throwing the book back into his locker and leave school entirely. He was in no mood to do anything today.

He just felt so numb.

Pip sighed and stored his book away, closing his locker door. He rested his head on the locker, trying to mentally pull himself together. He just felt horrible. Like he was going to be sick.

"Getting friendly with the locker door, are we?"

Pip jumped and turned his head to see a sly looking Kenny McCormick standing across from him with his arms folded. Surprised by his sudden appearance, Pip tried looking for an exit but found every approach blocked by the scruffy blonde who had him cornered. Pip's mind was still in a state of befuddlement so all he could do was stare at Kenny with wide eyes, not knowing what to say or do.

Kenny stared down at him impassively. "Morning, chump. What are you doing?"

The unexpected question dazzled Pip. "N-Nothing?"

Kenny blinked lazily, "You call face planting your locker, nothing?"

"Y-Yes." he replied meekly, rubbing his arm.

"Cool beans. A'ight, since you're not doing anything right now, you can help me study." Kenny sweeped down his parka sleeve.

"W-What?" Pip squeaked, not wanting this at all.

"It's like an hour before classes start. You can help me study. That way you'll be able to avoid Clyde's gang and Cartman because I know they love beating the crap out of you. That's what you want, right?" he asked pointedly.

Pip gulped and rubbed his arm, "O-Okay then... Um, w-what did you want to s-study?"

Kenny unhelpfully shrugged his shoulders.

Pip soon found himself sitting opposite Kenny in the empty library. Pip felt very uncomfortable at the predatory nature of his classmate and secretly hoped Kenny would get bored and leave him alone, but knowing his luck that probably wouldn't be the case. "Um, what did you want to study? I-I can do English or History. W-Well, maybe not History. I only know English History, sorry. Um, what would you prefer?" he asked.

"I thought you knew more than that." came Kenny's bored reply. "Aren't you supposed to be clever?"

Pip gave a taut smile, "My grades are falling in every subject."
