"I did it!" Diane cheered as she ran toward Ominis in the hallway, hugging him happily.
He laughed at the ambush and smiled when it reminded him of when she'd first read his love letter. "Did what, sweet?"
"My plant! It's able to reproduce, and I can grow more! That means I passed my midterms!" She smiled happily.
More of those fearsome plants... Merlin help us all.
"That's wonderful, Diane! Maybe we should take a trip to Hogsmeade to celebrate." He smiled.
"Oh, for dinner tonight? That way Sebastian can go too. Then we can head to Feldcroft now that Christmas break is here tomorrow." She grinned excitedly.
"Mmm I'm really looking forward to tonight. It's been some time since we've had a night together without anything happening." He chuckled, kissing her cheek gently as his hand ran through her curls.
Diane blushed that he'd done so in the middle of the hallway, smiling softly. Ominis was growing much more bold now that they were getting closer to graduation. He was always so sweet with his touches when they were in public, it made her feel so loved.
"Me too." She said breathlessly, looking forward to the softer pace of the nights they were together without the desperation that comes with amortentia.
"What are you thinking about, Diane?" Ominis smiled wryly. "Your heartbeat picked up."
She blushed as he caught on to what she was thinking of, looking over to him with a soft chuckle. "You know very well what I'm thinking about." She teased back.
Ominis hugged her from behind, burying his face in her soft curls as a few 2nd year skittered by with red faces. "Be patient, sweet."
"You're going to get us in trouble." Diane giggled at how clingy he was being, but she definitely didn't mind.
"True... can't have detention. Not when Christmas break is tomorrow." He sighed, reluctantly letting her go.
"We'll get plenty of time for that over break." She said, turning around and tapping his nose gently to tease him.
"You're just lucky Sebastian isn't here. He would have dragged us both off by now." Ominis said quietly with a grin.
Diane giggled wildly at the thought and nodded. "I'll see you at dinner tonight. Going to Hogsmeade will be fun." She said, kissing his cheek back before her touch lingered on his arm as she walked away.

The snow crunched softly beneath their feet as they made their way to Hogsmeade, opting to take the scent route rather than using floo powder. They had plenty of time now that school was released for vacation, and now that they finally had time together they were going to savor it.
"Did we want to go to the masquerade again?" Diane asked, holding hands with Ominis as Sebastian walked beside her. He wanted so badly to hold her hand as well, but with people walking by that would be a bad idea.
"Sure, I can break out my Forsaken mask." Sebastian grinned. "Be the mysterious dark stranger." He made his hands into claws as if pretending to be dangerous.
"Hardly a stranger." Diane rolled her eyes with a wry smile. She'd seen every inch of this man how many times now?
"A little roleplay is fun." Sebastian chuckled, bumping her with his hip.
"Sebastian!" Ominis said in a flustered tone. They were in public!
Sebastian only laughed at how red Ominis was.
