Anne closed the door behind them as she and Sebastian arrived back at their parents house. She turned around to watch Sebastian go over to his bag and down a wiggenweld potion. He rubbed his jaw anxiously, still shocked that Ominis had punched him like that. Sure he'd hit him before, but he'd kind of deserved it. This time he felt like it wasn't quite his fault.

"So... you have a thing for Diane." Anne said matter of factly.

Sebastian paused and glanced over to his sister from trying to wipe blood off his chin. "Yes." He answered, knowing Anne would be able to tell if he lied.

"And she's with Ominis." Anne said, sounding rather perturbed now.

"Yes." Sebastian answered again.

"And you don't care?" Anne scoffed in disbelief.

"No, I don't." Sebastian's expression turned harder. "She's with Ominis. I won't betray him and try and take her."

Anne crossed her arms with a sound of disbelief. "Why? Why go after her? Why not try and move on? What is this? You've never been like this before."

Sebastian gave her a dark look. Anne knew him better than anyone else ever could. As a twin they shared that strange connection between them, almost able to tell each other's thoughts.

"Oh, I see. So I leave for a year and suddenly you're some weakling chasing after girls you can never have. What is happening with you? You were never this pathetic before. You took what you wanted when you wanted it."

"And look where that got me." He hissed coldly, tilting his head with a dangerous expression.

Anne backed off a bit, wary of the look but leveled a glare back at him. "Why her?"

"Because she was by my side through everything... and she saw the good in me when no one else could." He looked back over to Anne with a hard look. "'Not even you." He let that sink in for a moment before continuing. "Don't test me in this, Anne. It won't end well."

Anne let out a small 'tsk' sound of frustration. "I'm rather surprised to see you being so selfless, brother."

"Times change. People change." He said firmly.

"Not that much." Anne insisted. "You always have a plan, you always have a scheme. What is it?"

Sebastian looked out of the window of the home, thinking of the war that would be raging in a few decades time. He thought about gentle touches and soft words, leaning his head on her shoulder while she read to them. Like fuck if he was going to give that up easily. "Sorry Anne, I can't say."

Sebastian stood before the door of the Love Room, his hand nervously hovering over the handle. She had said to not return until he was healed from what he'd seen. He accepted her lesson... he had taken it to heart. He knew how important Diane and Ominis were to him, now. That was what she meant, right?

He steeled himself before turning the handle, striding into the room and going through the procedure as normal. The amortentia tasted... different this time. Why was that? It tasted sweeter, and once it went down his throat it felt so much more intoxicating.

He wheezed as it burned at his guts. His eyes going wide as his head spun wildly. He fell to one knee as Love rose from the fountain, a soft chuckle ringing through the air.

Hello, my stubborn ward. She purred to him. Now whatever could put you in such a state?

Sebastian gritted his teeth against the burning, looking up to Love as she strode toward him. His eyes went wide and his jaw slack, the image of Diane now so much more clear. Why did she suddenly look so real?! Where had the form of the amortentia woman gone?
