Ominis had expected to fall into a sensation of water like he normally did, but instead he hit hard ground.
He looked around him in confusion and gasped when he saw everything in the sky had a tiny of green to it. Was this the curse? I as it keeping him separated from Diane's actual memories?

He looked over to see bright colors in the distance, confused how there could be a memory here already. It should be blank at the top conciousness.

He stopped at the edge of the colors when he realized what they were.

Roses. Roses as far as the eye could see in front of him.

Diane!

He looked around wildly for her, thinking maybe she was nearby. She had to be! She was all about plants and flowers especially, so this had to be a sign!

He saw a silvery figure in the distance and before he even knew what he was doing he was running toward it, as fast as he could. When he was a short distance away he slowed to a stop in confusion as he looked at what the figure had turned out to be.

A bay mare, the silvery tendrils of magic in her mane waving in an unseen wind. She looked at him, staring for a moment.

"Wait-" Ominis realized. Diane's Patronus! Was this her somehow?!

The mare reared up on her legs and kicked at the air with her front hooves, tossing her head playfully before turning to run.

"Wait- Diane!" Ominis yelled, bolting after her as fast as he could.

Petals flew into the air behind her hooves, filling the air around them with the vibrant colors of the flowers at their feet. He was running as fast as he could, panting as he fought to catch up with her, but she was so fast!

He stumbled a bit in his haste, wishing he could keep up, he knew somehow he had to catch her to bring her back. He had to! He had to get her, to bring back his Diane, bring her back from this fate worse than death.

A spark of gold flared above him, one of the rose petals bursting into flames and swirling in the air until the gold magic gathered further. A stream of gold light shone out into the air, the figure of a woman flying in the air above him with her long hair streaming behind her in ribbons of brightly glittering magic. She twisted and turned in the air as she flew above him, looking down to him with charcoal bright eyes.

Focus.

The voice in his head was familiar, and he stumbled again in his shock, wiping a hand over his face as tears came to his eyes. Focus... he had to focus!

He stared after Diane, his strides growing wider and stronger. He ran faster than he'd ever run before. He felt faster somehow, the wind blowing in his face like when he'd been on Highwing. He fought on, his feet flying, his lungs burning, faster! Faster!

The golden stream of magic dipped down so he ran through it, and suddenly he felt his arms spread wide, wind picking him up into the sky. He somehow knew what to do, shock filling him as he looked down at the silvery form of his own Patronus.

He was flying!

With renewed determination he flapped his wings hard, the speed of his golden eagle let him speed forward. Wind flew through his feathers, his talons squeezing in his need for speed as he focused everything on getting to Diane. He had to catch her- just a single touch- he reached out a wing as he flew near her, feathers inches from her flanks as he reached out as far as he could-
