I'm on the road to Dallas today, so I'll be writing a lot! I may not have as many chapters for the next week or so as I go to museums and the aquarium around town. We're visiting friends who made the national robotics championships so wish our team luck!
On to the story...
Also, with this chapter Unspeakable is officially longer than In The Shadow of Love... and we have a LONG way to go, yet...

William had disagreed with his father before, but things had never been this bad. He'd learned long ago that speaking up brought pain, so he'd learned to simply not speak. Or show emotion. It was easier.
But as he looked down at Diane, he remembered what she had been like before she'd been kicked out of their home. Sweet, happy, a ray of sun in a dark world. She had made life easier for him by stealing sweets from the kitchen and convincing him to sneak out of the house to explore the area.
This Diane, though... he didn't recognize this Diane.
When his father was busy she simply... was. She sat quietly, staring off into nothing. His father's ideal child, certainly. When he had his mind on her, she busied herself by practicing magic in their training room. Her strange blue magic was incredibly powerful, like nothing he'd ever seen before. His father delighted in it, using it again and again.
He hissed in alarm as she had a trickle of blood trailing from her nose, looking around to make sure no one was watching before he wiped it away gently with his sleeve.
No... he didn't agree with this.
Not that he could do anything about it.

Sebastian had thought the next day he would be feeling better.
Nope.
He was even more aching, his muscles seized up around his chest and stomach whenever he tried to move. It was aggravating, because he wanted to go get Diane. NOW.
"Will you quit grumbling?" Ominis chuckled as Sebastian muttered unhappily on the couch as he laid back against the cushions.
"I hate this." He growled.
"You're like a caged animal right now. All growls and snaps." Ominis rolled his eyes, but seemed a bit amused by it.
"I don't mean to snap. I'm just frustrated." Sebastian said in a softer voice, looking up to him when Ominis brought him a sandwich for lunch the next day.
"I know, I am too." Ominis sighed. "I don't know what's happening to her... and it scares me what they may be doing." Her family were mercenaries, and now they had a powerful new witch with ancient magic. Who knows what they would throw Diane into with little care for her safety.
They looked up when a knock sounded from the door, both of them tensing as Sebastian slowly took his wand out, sitting up with a low groan of pain.
"Stay here." Ominis said firmly, knowing Sebastian was in no condition to fight anyone.
He walked cautiously to the door, his wand raised warily as he opened it.
"Hello Ominis. Oh. Well I'm glad you're being cautious." Poppy said, looking with surprise at the wand pointed to her face.
"Poppy." Ominis sighed with relief, lowering his wand. "What are you doing here already?"
"I went to the library last night and found every map of London I could." She said, walking into the house and setting down a basket full of books and papers on the table in front of Sebastian.
