Tw: drinking
The closing ceremonies for the year were the same as they had been each year, except this year Sebastian had his sister sitting beside him as well. He loved having her here, smiling as she grinned and waved at people across the room, and gave Garreth flirty eyes over at the Gryffindor table. He chuckled as quite a few people caught on that, looking between the two of them in shock. It made sense, a Gryffindor and a slytherin weren't common pairings.
He looked over to Diane and smiled when she was looking their way as well, her own smile widening sweetly as their gaze caught across the room.
"Diane is looking this way." Sebastian told Ominis who smiled and gave a small wave.
"Oh ho, she blew you a kiss." Sebastian chuckled, seeing Poppy roll her eyes dramatically next to Diane before they giggled together.
"She did?" Ominis blushed happily, smiling brightly.
"I wonder who will win the house cup this year?" Anne smiled happily, greatly enjoying the ceremony.
"Not sure, I honestly didn't pay much attention to the points." Sebastian chuckled. He had been far too busy this year to pay attention to much of anything else other than his partners, his job, Anne and his schooling.
"I didn't either, we've had such a busy year." Ominis laughed. "It was hard to even pay attention to school sometimes."
"Well, I hope it's slytherin, but I have a feeling it's not. We had so many trouble makers as 1st years this year." She sighed dramatically.
"You know once upon a time we were those trouble makers." Sebastian grinned wryly. "So don't be too hard on them."
"True..." Anne laughed.
"Another year has come to a close at Hogwarts." Professor Weasley stood at the podium at the front of the room, catching their attention. "You have faced trials, struggles, challenges and obstacles on your way here, and overcame all of them.
Though you will head home after tonight, I trust that what you have learned here this year will lead you to success outside of your school as well. The true test of knowledge is its application to your everyday life. Have faith in your teachings, and trust in your knowledge. The thirst for learning never ends, and many of you will come back here, but some of you will move on to greater things."
Weasley smiled as she looked across the room, her eyes stopping on Diane who smiled softly. "The trials you face will be many, but my best advice to you, is to have faith in those around you. A Wizard's true power is in the friends they keep by their side."
Poppy bumped into Diane teasingly with the advice, Diane giggling and bumping her back playfully before looking back over to Sebastian and Ominis and smiling sweetly.
Weasley stepped aside as Black stepped up to the podium, clearing his throat and adjusting his suit. "You have all proven yourself exemplary in your studies, some... more than others, but all of you have fulfilled your role and succeeded as students here at Hogwarts. You have shown your merit, and your tenacity." He looked around the room thoughtfully, and cleared his throat again as if he had expected a reaction. "Now, on to what I'm sure you're all impatiently waiting for, the house cup. You have all worked hard for your houses, and shown each attribute in spades. Some... again, more than others..." he looked at Albus in particular with a weary look, a few other Gryffindors chuckling.
"So, it is my great... privilege..." he sneered the word a bit. "To announce this year's house champion. Gryffindor!" He waved his wand, the banners at the top of the room shifting to red and gold as the Gryffindor table erupted in cheers.
