To get the full feel of this chapter put on the How to train your dragon flying theme once he drops in. That's what I listened to on repeat writing it.

Ominis found Diane in the parlor just as William had said, standing and swaying softly at the window as if she was looking outside... but he knew she wasn't. Not with the eerie way she moved back and forth as if to an unheard rhythm.

He had to wait until she was still, because that meant her father was distracted. His eyes glowed softly in the room, standing behind her a short ways and waiting for something to happen. He was anxious, wringing his hands in front of him as he watched... and waited.

And waited...

He inhaled sharply as he heard crashes and a scream from further in the house, one of the battles starting already. He heard Sebastian's confringo and realized it was him and William confronting Diane's cousin.

He gripped his shirt at his chest anxiously, hoping Sebastian would stay safe against someone like her.

He returned his focus to Diane as she moved, walking slowly over to one of the chairs and sitting down, her gaze blank as she remained perfectly still.

This was it- he must be distracted by what was happening.

Ominis walked over to her, his heart hammering in his chest as he held his hand tight around his wand, kneeling in front of her. He reached up to touch her cheek gently, leaning up to kiss her forehead. "Come back to us, love." He said softly, before setting the tip of his wand against her temple.

He expected to fall onto hard ground this time, trying to catch his feet as best he could as he looked over to the expansive field of roses once more.

But this time he knew what to do.

He started running, his focus on finding Diane once more. The mare was in the distance, tossing her head with glee when she saw him, rearing and kicking at the air before she bucked her back legs, starting on a hard run once more.

He saw the petals flying into the air behind her, smiling at how fast and free she was. His Diane, a free spirit that could never be contained even by her father. They were both from families that sought to control them, and they had both chosen to be free.

He laughed happily as he ran after her, his eyes bright as he watched her run, the heavy hoofbeats of her Patronus falling hard against the ground. She looked back to him and tossed her head again, giving a short leap into the air as she whickered happily.

He remembered last time, smiling happily at her joy as she looked back at him again, as if in invitation. He knew what he had to do, and he spread his arms out as he ran, exhilaration filling him as he felt feathers spread from his fingertips down his arms, the feeling of freedom and love filling his every fiber.

He jumped into the air and took to the sky with a powerful beat of his wings, screeching out to her as he flew forward hard, catching up to her with heavy flaps as he looked down at her form running below him.

She looked up and leapt into the air again, her head even with him as she whickered loudly, mane flowing long behind her. He swooped down to fly around her, his wingtips brushing her flank as he grew close to her, both of them even as they sped through the field of roses. Petals flew around him, filling his vision as he finally veered toward her, both of them disappearing into a bright flash of silvery magic as they rolled through the roses, limbs tangling until they came to a stop.

When he came to his senses he looked down to see Diane smiling up to him, the green haze in the sky above him cracking and pieces falling to reveal the brilliant blue sky behind it.
