Chapter 88: Natsai Onai

Diane entered the three broomsticks with a smile, waving to Sirona before looking around the room. She spotted a familiar face and her smile brightened more.

"Natty!" She waved as she walked over to her.

Natty was sitting at one of the tables drinking a butterbeer, dressed in the ornate black and gold robes of an auror. She looked up as her name was called out, smiling at the sight of Diane and standing, hugging her as she approached.

"It is so good to see you!" Natty said, hugging her tightly before leaning back to look Diane over. "Look how much you have changed! Oh, I feel like I have missed so much after I left."

"You look so different, too! You grew your hair out, it looks lovely." Diane smiled happily.

"You are as sweet as ever. I'm glad that has not changed." Natty chuckled, sitting back down as Diane sat beside her. "Please, tell me what has happened since I was gone. I want to know everything."

"A... lot has happened." Diane said, trying not to look nervous. "I... started dating Ominis 6th year."

"Ominis Gaunt?!" Natty said in surprise. "Diane... isn't he-"

Diane shook her head emphatically. "He's wonderful, Natty, he's so sweet and considerate, he always knows what to say to cheer me up." She sighed happily. "He's really not at all like everyone thinks he is."

Natty tilted her head thoughtfully. "I'll take your word for it, Diane. You sound like you are still dating him? I'm surprised Sebastian has not made a fuss about it with how he always looked at you 5th year."

Diane blushed, remembering last night. Yeah he definitely still looked at her that way. "About that. Um..."

"Diane Walsh. Are you... you are not!" Natty said in shock, her voice hushed as she blushed.

Diane gave her a meek look. "It's... a very long story. But yes. It was a rocky road to get there, and it only just really started this year."

"Then... Sebastian too? He was such a troublemaker in school." Natty shook her head. She was shocked, but... leave it up to Diane to be able to make something that crazy work.

"He still kind of is." Diane muttered softly, glancing toward the door. He was probably off at his exam right now.

"I will say I'm rather shocked... but I think I will reserve judgement until I meet them. People can change so much in two years." Natty smiled weakly. "What else has happened?"

"Um... well recently Garreth proposed to Anne." Diane said thoughtfully, trying to think over the big events.

"Wait wait wait-" Natty held up her hands in shock. "Garreth Weasley... proposed to Anne Sallow? Sebastian's sister?! Is he okay with it?"

"Oh yeah he's fine with it." Diane smiled happily. "Said he's excited to go to the wedding. He and Garreth are a lot closer now. Garreth helped Anne with her medicine, and they kind of fell for each other, and well it took a bit for Sebastian to get used to it, but he eventually did."

"My goodness everything has changed so much." Natty laughed softly. "So what are Ominis and Sebastian doing after school?"

"Oh, well, they'll both work at the Ministry. I suppose they'll be your coworkers." Diane chuckled.

"The Ministry? Sebastian Sallow?" Natty said skeptically.

"Well, he's an Unspeakable. So he can't really say what he does." Diane shrugged. "Just his job title."
