Sorry for the late chapter I was making forsaken arc audios and the three broomsticks convo tore me apart lmao damn that audio adding so much more emotion. Anyway back to fluff!
Also a warning for this particular couple- I'm going to take a bit more creative licenses with their future. Because I'm the writer and I can do that lol

Dan waited for Poppy outside the door, dressed in his best outfit- which unfortunately wasn't much yet. He started his new job tomorrow, but he was far more excited for tonight. Sebastian had pulled through and brought Diane and Ominis over, who were more than happy to help watch the kids. Diane had even helped him a bit with his hair so he would look his best.
He smiled happily when he spotted Poppy as she rounded the corner onto the street, her pretty yellow dress making her look like a sunbeam. She stopped in front of him and gave him a shy smile.
"Ready?" He said, offering her an arm to hold as they walked down the street.
"Yes, but where are we going? You said to dress somewhat casual?" This dress was about as casual as she got.
"Yup, don't need anything fancy for this place." Dan grinned excitedly, guiding her down the road toward the dance hall at the end where Scottish music played from inside.
"Wait, are we going there?" Poppy asked with wide eyes.
"Yeah, I thought since you showed me your world, I'd show you a bit of mine." He grinned.
She looked up to him in surprise, before blushing and smiling softly. That was a very sweet sentiment... "I'm not used to parties. And crowds."
"That's alright. Just focus on me for the night. I'll make sure no one messes with you." He promised.
The music was loud and boisterous when they went into the dance hall, people spinning wildly on the dance floor while others sang from the tables off to the side. It was a riotous gathering, spending the last day of their workweek playing hard after working hard all week.
"Come on, I got us a table saved in the corner so you can get used to it." He said, guiding her over that way. The table was somewhat secluded, letting Poppy breathe a bit as she was a rather overwhelmed from the crowd.
He sat at the table with her, smiling to her as she turned to watch the crowd dance.
"It's fun, I promise." He said with a soft laugh. "You just have to not think. Just go with the beat."
Poppy turned back to him anxiously. "I'm not sure if I can do that."
"I'll show you." He said softly.
She had shown him a whole other side of the world and helped him change, now he wanted to do the same for her.
Poppy told him about her latest work while eating their scotch pies, and he found that he loved listening to her talk about her creatures, even if she had to be vague in this setting. She was so passionate about what she did, putting all her heart and soul into caring for the creatures that couldn't care for themselves.
He smiled as he listened, his eyes growing warm. He loved listening to her, it was somehow always interesting, and she was smart and witty. Far smarter than he was, for certain.
She eventually stopped and blushed when she saw his expression, looking down bashfully. "Sorry, I get wrapped up when I start talking about creatures". She said in embarrassment.
"There's nothing to be sorry about, Pop. I like hearing you talk about them." His smile widened.
"You do?" Poppy looked up in surprise. Usually people found her constant talking about one subject somewhat annoying.
