— one hundred twelve

THE MORNING KATE WOKE UP TO THE WARM SMELL OF french vanilla coffee, slowly prying her eyes open and squinting at the sun peeking through the curtains, turning to her side and met with the empty side where Stefan had been the previous night.

"Stefan?" She mumbled against the pillow, with a huff and forced herself to sit up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, now fully awake and looked around the empty dorm.

"Seriously? What I'm a one night stand?" Kate grumbled, pushing the blankets off and stood up, walking towards the cup of hot coffee on the small table.

"Hmm." She smiled at the sweet taste, she sat back down in the bed, having a quiet moment to herself before it was unreasonably interrupted by her phone.

"It's eight in the morning." Kate mumbling, grabbing her phone off the phone and answered. "Hello?"

"Don't you sound chipper this morning." Damn Salvatore spoke through, Kate could hear the smirk in his voice.

"What is it, Damon?" Kate ignored his comments and quickly got to asking for what he needed her for.

"I need to talk to you, come by the house." Damon sounded serious and quite urgent. Kate sat up straight and furrowed.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, yeah... I think." Damon mumbled at the end but was heard by Kate. "Look, just come to the house and I'll explain everything, all right?"

Kate exhaled and nodded though he couldn't see her and said. "Okay, I'll be there in thirty."

"Good, goodbye."

"Why would she give you that?"

Kate had arrived exactly in thirty minutes, Damon had been outside in the front when she had pulled up and didn't even give her a proper greeting before he had blurted out that Bonnie had given him the cure that she had gotten from 1903 prison world when they had gone for Lily last night.

"She thinks I should give it to Elena." Damon explained when he sat on the stone, facing the large front yard.

"You're not going to?" Kate spoke, but it sounded more like a statement to Damon.

Damon glanced over and arched a brow. "Am not?" He genuinely thought Kate was in his side and against Elena becoming human again but he knew it was so obvious for Kate Gilbert to be selfish.
