Chapter 30 Meeting part 2

Ryker POV

Fin squeezes my hand "we can show them, my memories" he links me.  "I don't think the council, would do such a thing?" someone says "then why did it take my mate and I, to release the kidnapped shifters?  Why hadn't they stepped in and stopped the government?" pop questions.

"Okay Fin, but just a few pictures, so they'll know you are telling the truth" I agree.  I feel him centre himself and hold my hand tighter.  I look out over the room of alphas.  I see the pictures he sends out.  I then hear gasps and murmurs as they see them too.

"That is only some, of what our mate had to go through.  They had planned to use our kind.  But my parents freed them and gave them a warning not to mess with us again.  They haven't listened" I speak up.  "Okay we will come and meet you in smaller groups so you can feel, how different Griffin is to us all" dad says.

I feel E's, anxiety rise. "It's okay, I'll not leave his side" I assure him. We step down from the stage, pop stays up on the stage watching everyone closely.  As we draw closer, I can see that they understand that Fin is indeed different.  We get to the centre of the room and again I see that they understand he's different.

"You think, you are the best, for Ryker and his pack?" Beth asks.  I roll my eyes "as we are true soulmates, yes, I do. I've been told the goddess doesn't make mistakes" Fin answers.  "You are just a test tube of mixed DNA.  It might be just a mistake?" she continues.

"We aren't here to discuss our soulmates.  I think everyone hear realises the importance of what we are really discussing!" I state.  She looks at me and flutters her eyelashes at me.  I roll my eyes again.  "You are what they call a Karen, aren't you? I didn't understand that at first, but meeting you.  I totally understand what they mean" Fin says snapping his fingers.  I bite the inside of my mouth to stop myself from laughing.

"My name is Beth" she says trying to look down at Fin.  "I thought I might be stupid!" he says to me, before turning and pinning Beth with a look that has her pausing in what she was going to say. 

"I might not have been born as you were. But I do know what it feels like, to feel the mating bond, the tingles and after mating and marking each other fully.  That only intensifies, all those feelings. Someone like you will never understand.  What its like to love and be loved unconditionally.  Disrespect any of us again and I will show you, just how, I'd deal with someone as stupid as you!" Fin warns.

Beth shrinks back a bit feeling Fin's anger, she glances at me. "That is all him and he's holding himself in check" I tell her.  She tries to pull up her head and Fin lets out more of his power all directed at her. But the people next to her also, can't help feeling it.  This stops her and keeps her shoulders bent with the weight of Fins anger.

"I'm sorry Alpha Keats, we haven't taught her to back down" her father says.  Fin looks over at her father.  "Do you also not like her?" he pauses "you'll get her killed with that attitude" he clarifies.  "But then again, I'm sure it wouldn't be much of a loss. I suggest you stop and move out of our way!" Fin tells her.

When her eyes narrow towards Fin.  It is me that grabs her around the neck "he is my mate.  You will show him respect!" I snarl into her face.  She tries to bare her neck and I drop her to the floor.

I feel pop and dad go on alert.  "I think it best we all go back to our rooms. Think about what you've learnt here and we will meet later tonight" dad instructs everyone.  I glance around the room, trying to find the threat.  "Our warriors at the airport have reported soldiers coming in" pop explains. It would be best if you all left quickly" pop says urging them on.  He then disappears behind a curtain that is at the back of the stage.

"I'll go and take care of them after I've assessed its us, they are coming for" pop informs us. "Be careful" dad warns. I watch as all the guests move out of the room.  "Keats is there a problem?"  Alpha Daniel asks.  Dad smiles at him and shakes his head.  "I feel, I've given them all a lot to think about.  We wouldn't have gotten much further.  They need time to sort out their thoughts.  Some will also make calls checking in with the people they trust, to see if what I've told them could be true.  Even though I'd mentioned the reason for this meeting.  I knew many would turn up having not really believed what I said.  I hope when we meet later tonight, we'll be able to think of what is best to do" dad explains. Keeping it, to at least half of the truth.

That way alpha Daniels shouldn't be able to detect a lie.

"Okay then, let me know if you need help with anything" Daniel says.  Dad nods and pats him on his shoulder.  "Stay alert, I'm sure tempers will be frayed and we don't know if anyone is talking to anyone they shouldn't." Alpha Daniels nods before turning and leaving too.  

Once everyone is out the room.  We leave and make our way to the elevators.  Dad giving the warrior instructions to tighten security within and around the hotel.

E keeps himself and Kieryn cloaked until we are back inside the suite.  I untie Kieryn from his back.  "I'm going to help pop" he says stripping out of his clothes.  "I'll come with you. If I can knock some heads together or make brain soup.  It will help me calm down. That vial woman was thinking way to loudly, about what she'd like to do with Ryker or you" Fin says also kicking off his sneakers. Then shrugging out his jacket.

"Then stay close to Fin and do as he says" I worry.  "I will I'm know longer a green horn, I've been around the block a time or two" Fin says and I roll my eyes as Fin fights his laughter at his use of the new expressions he's learnt.

"Should have just given him a physics book or something" I grumble.

"Be careful, both of you" dad warns.

Kieryn and I watch as they strip and then Fin cloaks them before stepping out onto the balcony. "Jump" I hear E shout.  I walk to the balcony door, but all I hear is the wind blowing around the tall building.  "We are alright Ry. Soren feels pop could be in trouble" E links.

"Keep me posted" I answer before going back inside and closing the door.  I don't lock it as they'll come back that way.

"Dad, do you need me to do anything?" I ask "no, rest we might need our strength later" he answers before going into his own room.  I look at Kieryn, "are you hungry? Thirsty?" I ask him. He nods so, I go to the cupboard and look through it.

"We have some mixed berries. I'll heat that and go and order some real food" I tell him. "Dad, do you want food?" I link him "I'm good, thanks" he replies.

I order a chicken salad, with some chicken nuggets and baked potato. I feed Kieryn the mixed fruit and some formula.

I feel E's anxiety spike, but hold off on linking him in case I distract him.  But can't sit and relax so get up and pace the floor.  Kieryn is quiet, but I feel his eyes looking up to me as I hold him and pace around the room.  It's the longest thirty minutes of my life.

Griffin POV

"Jump" Ethan says and we both jump from the balcony we are on.  Shifting as we do.  I fly directly under Ethan. This helps him cloak us both.  The city below us is bright with artificial lights.  There seems to be advertising and billboards everywhere.  There are also many large hotels.  The people are walking about like ants.  We fly towards the outskirts of the city and airport. "Fin, get on my back. Conall is in trouble" Soren instructs.
