Chapter 23 Sorry Not Sorry

So, we all start looking for a building or vent that they are getting their air supply from. Fin points to a building set apart from the rest of the building. 

Soren flies towards it and we can hear the hum of electricity as we get nearby.  Then I spot two man made hills with vents hidden in one side of them.  Soren lands on the building crushing it and then bends his long neck towards the vents.  We feel him fill his lungs with air and then fire is shutting from his mouth down into the vents.  Scorching all the surrounding sand and dry grasses.  He does this three times.  We hear the fire alarm go off and also some people trying to open electric doors.  I look down at the crushed building and realise that with out the power they are unable to open the doors.  Soren lets out another long stream of hot fire from his mouth and then takes to the sky again.  He circles around the base.  Until, we see black smoke bellowing out of some of the above ground buildings.  When they also set alight, with flames shooting from the windows.  Soren picks up the three trucks parked nearby and drops them into the burning buildings.  We wait until no more screams can be heard, before flying off.  "Are you alright to fly directly to Vegas, Soren?" I ask "Yes, I'm fine" he replies still angry.  I look down over Fins shoulder and find the little one, asleep in Fin's arms.  I hug Fin closer and he too closes his eyes and sleeps.

"E what are we going to do with a child?" I can feel the attachment, I feel already to the small thing. "I think there are going to be more of them. So, for now we'll keep him safe with us and see what is the best for all of them" he answers.  We are all quiet then, as Soren flies us towards Vegas.

I keep a hold of Fin and the child keeping them safe while Soren uses his magic to keep them warm.  It takes us another 3 hours to get to Vegas.  We land just outside Vegas and once E, has shifted and dressed. I step beyond his cloaking and find the driver sent to meet us.

I wave as though waving to E only and he steps out from behind some bushes keeping Fin and the child cloaked.  I open the back door of the SUV and keep it open so Fin can get in first. Then E get's in and I go last.  It's a large SUV so we can all fit comfortably inside.

We drive to the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore hotel it's a five-star resort that is the only one fit enough, for all the alphas to meet together.  Once we've arrived, the driver drops us at the front of the hotel.  When the Valet opens the door, we take our time allowing Fin and the child out first.  Pop is waiting for us in the lobby.  "We have a suit booked, come on.  Are you alright?" he asks taking us to the elevator.

"We took care of the base. They had a whole DNA bank down there.  Soren torched it, after crushing the main electric building.  No-one was able to leave" I explain. E, keeps Fin and the child cloaked, till we enter the suit.  Then pop and dad hug us all as they look at the sleeping child in Fin's arms.  "My arms feel as though they are falling off" Fin tells us.

"Sorry, here" I say taking the small boy from him.  His little arm goes up around my neck and his head snuggles into my chest and shoulder. "They were taking him to a more secure location.  I had to remove the tracker and licked the cut close.  I saw how they had been worried about someone finding him there.  That is when I saw  huge amounts of fridges with DNA samples stored there.  It looked like they are the ones that have been supplying the samples to other countries.  I asked Soren to go back, so we could take care of it" I explain wanting to take responsibility for my actions.

"You did good" dad assures me. "We killed people" I link to them not wanting to say it out loud. Dad hugs me and we sit down in the sitting room of the suite.  I stroke the back of the child in my arms as he sleeps soundly.  As it helps sooth my nerves and emotions.

"He only looks to be about 2 or 3 years old" pop says.  "We are going to need some nappies and other supplies, as well as clothes.  "I'll go out with Ethan.  We can probably get, what we need from the nearest mall.  We'll go now.  I'll get some formula as well as some baby food.  As they probably haven't given him much of anything.  The sooner we stop all this, the better" pop says getting emotional.
