Chapter 35 A Little Normal

Griffin POV

I feel him link the kitchen staff. 

"Ethan thinks wetsuit material would be best to protect against the nets" I tell him.  "Yeah, that would work.  I was trying to think how to use tires.  But that would be much better.  I'll ask Sky to get on it" he says.

Just as someone knocks on the door then walks in.  Kieryn is under Ryker's t-shirt hiding.  We all look up to see Sky looking around.  Seeing us, she runs over, hugs Ethan, then me, as she goes to hug Ryker she stops and squeals.  "It this the little Kieryn, pop was just telling us about him?" she asks trying to lift up Ryker's t-shirt.

"Sis give him some room, he'll come out when he's not scared" Ryker says dryly.  Sky sticks her tongue out at him and I copy her, as I feel like sticking my tongue out to him often too.  She sits on the floor a little away from Ryker's feet.

Ryker pulls the neck of his t-shirt and looks down "it's okay, we have a sister.  She won't hurt you.  Well, she might dress you in some strange stuff!  But, aww!" Ryker says having been kicked in the leg by Sky.

We hear a hiss and a rumble coming from under Ryker's t-shirt.  "Good going sis" Ryker says sneering at her.  "I didn't really hurt him. Did I?" she asks turning to me.  I ignore her looking at my tablet.  Feeling its best not to answer that question.

"Kieryn, she really won't hurt you" Ryker assures him.   It takes a second, but Kieryn peeks out from the above the neck of Ry's t-shirt. "You are beautiful, look at those eyes" Sky says.  Kieryn goes back under the t-shirt and then slowly comes out.  He keeps close to Ryker though.

"Why Kieryn?" Sky asks "Ryker remembered it meant ray of light" Ethan answers, turning and stroking Kieryn's foot.  "Ray of light, yes, I can see that.  At least he isn't all skin and bones, like Griffin was" she says.  "He's filled out, they weren't giving him much solid food" Ryker tells her.  "I think we should exterminate, every last one of them" she states angrily.

"They want to exterminate us.  That is why, they are going to these lengths" Ryker informs her. Pop only said a little, but I got the feeling, there was much more" she says. "We've had an interesting couple, of days" Ethan answers.

"Kieryn, I have a key chain you might like" Sky says knowing she won't get much information, for now from her brothers.  She takes something from her pocket.  Then detaches something colourful from it.  "I've messed it all up again.  But you have to get all the side the same colour.  It moves like this" she says, showing him how the small square tiles move.

She then holds it out onto the flat of her hand.  I smile as it disappears from her hand.  Making her gasp, as she see's it is, now in Kieryn's hands.  "Did he just use magic?" she asks "we're not sure how he does that yet.  I'm not sure he knows how he does that" Ryker admits.

We watch as Kieryn plays with the toy.  "I'll have to ask pop, where he's put our toys or if he's given them all to the pack?" Ethan says.  "They still have some of your Lego.  As well as some of the early computer games.  I'll root them out and bring them over."

Sky looks at Ryker holding Kieryn "Ryker, have you told Ethan about the house you want to build for him?" she asks 

"I haven't had the time to think of it" he answers.  "You wanted to build me a house?" Ethan asks surprised.  Ryker nods towards the laptop he's holding.  "I've already drawn up the plans.  I was going to ask if you wanted to add anything to it.  Of course, now we have Fin, he can ask too" Ryker says.

Ethan turns to the laptop and finds the plans Ryker is talking about.  Seeing them, Ethan gets emotional.  I look over his head down at the lap top and see a number of angled lines, numbers and words.  None of which would upset me.  Unless you realise there is no picture of the house.
