Chapter 56 Last Lesson

Griffin POV

That night, I make love to my mates slowly and passionately.  Wanting to show them how grateful I am for their love.  It is the first night the triplets slept right through the night.

The next day we are told there is a stranger wanting to talk to the alpha in charge.  I go with Ry and E.  He is a large man but not as large as my mates.  He does look at me though and smile "so beautiful" he murmurs which causes my mates to move forward and block me from his view. "Is it true you let new shifters live within your pack?" he asks "It is true.  But Fin is our mate.  We don't like others looking at him as though they want to eat him up" Ry growls out.  I can feel Dante fighting to get out.

"I was just stating a fact.  I meant no disrespect.  To see you treating one of our kind so well. Pleases me.  I escaped more than 5 years ago from a prison, I never want to go back too.  I have lived doing odd jobs and never staying in one place long enough to be tracked.  But I heard talk about new shifters and them finding a home here.  I only wish to see if I too could call it a home" the stranger says.  "Something draws me here" he adds.

"Do you have a name?" E asks "I use the name of the man who first gave me a ride.  His name was Brent Davis" he answers.  "Well Brent you are welcome to come and have a look at our pack. I warn you though don't scare any of the pack.  Some are still very jumpy when meeting new people" Ry warns.

I go to move to their side, when they move keeping me out of sight.  I smile, really my mates are too much sometimes, I think to myself, while a grin splits my face.  "Well as you don't need me, I'm going back to my garden.  See you later" I say touching my mate's backs.  I can feel their desire to turn around and hug me.  But also, them not wanting Brent to see me too.

"Welcome to the pack Brent" I add as I stroll back towards the pack gardens.

Ryker POV

"Boss Ry, I was able to ride my bike on my own" one of the young pack members run up to tell me.  I crouch down, so I'm at his level.  "Great job, Liam.  Has Matty managed yet?" I ask him. He shakes his head and then glances at the new comer.  "You are old!" Liam says before looking back at me.

"We don't greet people that way, do we?" I ask Liam screws up his face and thinks, then turns back to Brent "welcome, if you are a new pack member, welcome and please learn that everyone is loved here" Liam says proudly.

"Who added the last bit?" I ask "Sky, she said that all pack members should love each other" Liam answers. "I see.  Good job on learning to ride your bike.  Now hopefully you can get to where you want, without going through all your shoes" I tell little Liam.  "Yeah, me too. I really liked the last ones" Liam replies. I ruffle his hair and give him a kiss on his head.  He smiles at me before running off towards his brother, much to quickly for a normal person and we see smoke coming from the bottom of his shoes.

"I'll have to warn him that he isn't to ride the bike really quickly, through the pack" E laughs watching him go. "You treat them as people would their young?" Brent questions "they are all our young.  Everyone here is family.  Even though we have biological children of our own and two older boys that are new shifters, we call our boys too" E tell him.

"You've been able to have biological children? Through your mate?" Brent asks and we feel his interest in Fin go up.  We both let some of our alpha power seep out.  He feels it and bows his head.  "Sorry, I didn't mean to.  It's just the thought of being able to have children myself.  Well, we all wish for that" he apologises.

"Anyone with a mate will tell you that they are bonded for life.  They will fight to the death to protect their mate.  We burnt out and levelled the people keeping our mate prisoner" I growl.  E puts his hand on my shoulder to calm me.  "He's also your mate?" Brent questions  "Ry and I are identical twins.  In shifters we are rare and also likely to be and have the same mate" E explains.
