Chapter 19 Abilities

Ryan POV

"He really did that to the tree?" I ask E.   "Oh, he shifted, flew, dived down towards me quickly, stopped and stepped gently to the ground.  Controlling everything beautifully.  Then sprang to and climbed the tree.  He really has control over his shifting.  But something made him go all commando on the tree.  He also helped me understand how to use Soren's magic better" E, tells me.

I look at our mate now sleeping with his head in Ethan's lap.  "Well at least he didn't shift and shred his clothes."  E smiles, no he likes the dress, your sneakers not so much" he says nodding a little away from where we sit.  I turn and see the shredded snickers that I made Fin wear this morning.  

I shake my head and look at him again "then he passed out?" I ask. "He did that to the tree with only his arms and hands shifted" E explains. "Wow! Impressive.  Let's take him back then and he can rest properly" I say having come to the clearing after my training session.  Pop has gone back to the pack house.

"I'll try and lift him with my magic" E says as we both stand up with Fin laying on the ground.  E takes a breath and then just moves his hand as though carrying a much smaller version of Fin. But Fin lifts from the ground and hovers in the air about thigh level.

"Hey, well done" I say to E.  We walk back with Fin in between us.  "Seems like the pack have learnt of Fin.  Or some of them have.  I've asked dad to look into it" I tell him.  "Well, they'd find out sooner or later.  But I wonder who would have said anything?" E asks.  We get back to the stairs leading up to our suite.  When we hear footsteps coming around the house.  E grabs Fin and runs up the stairs with him.  I stay and wait for the person to come out from around the corner.  "Doc" I say "Ryker, I thought I'd come and see how your mate is doing?" he says. "He's doing fine thanks.  We would have brought him to you if he wasn't" I answer.

"Yes, well it's probably best I look him over" he insists "sorry, doc E, has taken him to Lucy's as she's been wanting to meet him.  Haley has taught us well too.  We'd know if something was wrong with him" I say not looking away from him.

When he looks up towards our deck, I feel my anger building. I let him feel just a little of it. "Dad has asked everyone not to come around to our side of the house.  You should go back now!" I say not even trying to hide my annoyance now.  "Of course, I just had some free time and thought I'd check up on you" doc says.

"Haley, did you ask doc to check on Griffin?" I link her. "No, in fact I said that you would bring him to us, if there were any problems. Why?" she asks "because he's here at the foot of our stairs asking to see him" I tell her

I feel her anger before she closes the link. "Well, I suppose I should head back then.  Call me though if anything occurs" doc says.  Then Haley's mate, dad's second comes running around the corner. "You shouldn't be here!" he says looking at the doc as though he wants to rip his throat out.

"Well, I need to go shower" I say "I was surprised though, that doc here went against my dads order" I say before taking the stairs two at a time and disappearing into our suit.

"The fucking nerve of the man!" E practically shouts in my head. "Ouch" I link back. Then walk into the bedroom.  I look for Fin not seeing him.  Then E, waves his hand and Fin is laying on the bed.  "I also had a kitchen knife at the deck door.  If he'd even thought of coming up.  He would have had it through his head" E says angrily.

"Not before, I'd snapped his neck. Now he'll have to deal with Haley, her mate and dad" I say.  He blows out a breath and then hugs me.  I feel the tension leave his body.  He leans into me and wraps his arms around me.  "I'm just understanding what a huge task we have in front of us, Ry. It's not just Fin we are going to have to protect but all the shifters they've managed to make. I think some are going to want to kill them, not only use them" he says clinging to me.
