Chapter 60 Family Grows

Ethan POV

3 months later

"Can you please make sure that all the orders are entered in the order they'll be delivered today!" Fin says not hiding his annoyance.  "The frozen food came early yesterday" I defend myself.  Fin is very much pregnant and feeling it too. His stomach can be seen before him, when he rounds a corner.

Something Ry actually dared to joke about.  Fin had gotten so mad at him he'd thrown his glass at him.  It had struck Ry on the head, as he'd turned to speak to Joel.  The glass had smashed loudly on his head and fallen to the floor.  I'd gasped as I was worried about the glass hitting Joel.  But Ry had pulled him into his legs and bent over him quickly.

When he had straightened up to glare at Fin.  We'd seen blood running down his neck.  Fin had then been beside himself.  It took us 30 minutes to get him to stop crying and apologising.  Ry had run up showered and changed, so he could show Fin that he had healed already.

Now we are all walking on egg shells around him.  

Ry has had to take a number of the pack for their driving exam, which we block booked. Thinking it would help them all to support each other.  But meeting new people is still stressful for them.  Ry is using a lot of his alpha power to keep them calm.  But Fin and I can still feel them stressing out.

"Fin, I'll deal with the deliveries, do you think you can send nice calming images to the pack with Ry?" I ask him.  He smiles and nods "do we have anymore peanut butter cookies and ginger ale?" he asks.  This makes me freeze "peanut butter cookies anyone" I link "yes, I'll bring them over" one pack member says and I breath easy again. "Yes, Fin I'll go and get the ginger ale" I say leaving his office.  

I thank Mary for the cookies and then Barry as he's bought some too. "There are some chocolate peanut butter cookies too" he tells me.  My eyes widen as I wonder if I should take them out as I haven't made any chocolate ones before.  "I've frozen plenty.  Just let me know if Boss Fin would like some more" he tells me.

I can't help kissing him on the head "thank you" I mouth and he nods moving away.  I go and give Fin the ginger ale and cookies.  "Funny pictures seem to be helping them more" Fin tells me.  "Good, anything to help Ry keep their stress level down.  The last thing we need is for one of them to shift" I say kissing his cheek.

I see to the deliveries and check on the supply storage and shop.  This keeps me busy until after lunch. Kieryn and Kia come back from school.  "Hungry, I had them save you some pizza?" I ask them.  They sit at one of the picnic tables near the outdoor kitchen.  It is so popular, our outdoor kitchen that pop and dad also built one.  The pack love it as they get fresh air, food and get to talk to the other members.

"So, how was your day?" I ask them giving them the pizza and some drinks.  "Why is it that others have to be jealous?" Kieryn asks.  "It's human nature to get jealous" I say stroking his head.  "But they aren't human? Their intelligence is much more than humans.  They should be able to reason with themselves, that others will be good at somethings they are not.  But they will have something that they excel in.  Is it our fault we are good at studies and sports" Kieryn carries on.  I see Kai put his hand on Kieryn's thigh giving him support.

"No that is not your fault.  I have said we could enrol you in classes that would test you more. You don't have to put up with the younger children being mean.  Ry and I both had to put up with that too.  If people want to be small minded, it is hard to make them see sense" I explain.

"Sorry, it was a bit much today" Kieryn apologises.  "Not your fault. If you are having a hard time let us know" I tell him.  He nods and then starts eating the pizza.  I decide to put some of the courses available on-line in their room.  I think both of them would like to be challenged by some of them.
