Strong One

Chapter 43

Ryker POV

Once they are off, pop and E shift back and pull on the clothes they were carrying in their mouths. "That one is full of towels and cleaning supplies.  This one is full of formula, bottles two bottle sterilizers and small children's clothes" Pop starts to explain. 

I hear a truck and look up to see Sky coming with the others and the back of the truck full of furniture.  Everyone helps get things inside the house.  Pop and Sky take Akio and the others and start to clean up the house.

E and I go up to the bathroom, we find Fin now holding two children.  We help wash them, then put nappies on them and dress them.  

"Ryker, the first bedroom is clean.  With a double mattress on the floor. Find the bedding" Pop calls. "Pink bundle" E says.

I go and look for the pink bundle.  Finding it I untie the large pink sheet and take out some bedding.  Then run up the stairs and make the bed up.  "Done" I say walking into the bathroom. Fin is holding the two kids again.  "Ethan is making up some formula" Fin tells me.

I take the kids from him, "get your food, quickly" I say feeling as though we are going to be dealing with more naked wet kids soon.

I carry the children to the bedroom and place them on the mattress.  "Fin come and sit with them.  I'll watch for others" I say walking back to the bathroom.  We are all kept busy cleaning and feeding the children as they break free from the sacks holding them. 

Pop and the others are making the house clean and organising the furniture.  Even dad and Jed have come over with more loaded trucks.  Jed doesn't stay long just long enough to help unload the things from his truck and then go back to the pack.  "Haley said she'd be over in the morning to check on the new arrivals" he tells me.

By 9pm, we have most of what we need to survive until the new things are delivered.  Pop and dad hug us goodbye, before leaving in their truck.  Sky went back earlier as she wanted to move her things into our old place.  Having decided she needed a place of her own.

She will pack up our clothes and stuff and bring them over tomorrow.  Fin is sleeping with the new kids.  Kieryn and his new friend is sleeping tied to my chest.  Our three new pack members are in another bedroom sleeping.  E and I are sitting on the now clean bathroom floor.  With the two last sacks hanging from the shower rail.

E leans into myside "we won't get to go to university, will we?" he asks. "When things get sorted, we will.  Or at least an online university course, I amend.  He smiles a little sadly.  I put my arm around him and rub his arm.

"Who would have thought that we'd be parents to 15 kids before we even turn 19" he continues. "I'm sorry, but I only feel a parental bond for Kieryn and his new little buddy.  Who we haven't named yet.  I'm hoping that when the others arrive we can ask them to take care of the other new born kids" I say.

"Do you think, they'll be able to do that?" E asks "yes, not all of them were treated as badly as Fin.  Akio has an attachment to the other two.  Even though he now has a mate, I'm sure he'll still visit often.  They all seem to have a high intelligence.  Look at Fin and Kieryn" I answer.  E smiles and strokes Kieryn's head, then his buddies.

"They seem to share some DNA or something as Kieryn feels protective over him" he says thoughtfully.  I nod agreeing with him.  I chuckle a little as I remember Kieryn and his buddy jumping into my arms from the truck.  Sky had dressed them in some of E's and I's old clothes. One t-shirt said I'm the eldest and the other said yeah, but I'm the good looking one.  With matching shorts and shoes.

"Sky bought all our old identical clothing over.  She thinks Kieryn and his buddy look cute" he says as though reading my mind.  "What should we call him?" I ask stroking their heads.  "How about Kia? Kieryn and Kia" I repeat.

E nods "sounds good."  "Why don't we name the others in order of the alphabet. You know Alex, Ben, Carl" he suggests "Dave or Doug?" I ask "Dave, Eli, F," E says tapping his chin "Felix? Fred?" I suggest E considers and then says "Felix, Grant, Harvey?" he says as a question. I nod liking the name. "Ian?" I suggest. "Isaac?" E suggests. "Either works, and Jack" I say looking at the two sacks.

"Their heartbeats aren't as strong, as they were?" I question.  "They haven't moved as much as the others did" E adds.  "Lean on me, get some sleep.  We'll hear it when the sack breaks" I assure him.  "Alpha Daniels will be becoming over early tomorrow" he reminds me.  I nod and settle back a little more, so he can rest on my shoulder.

I hear his even breathing, and relax more myself.  I fall into a light sleep.  I wake-up when I feel the lives in the last two sacks drift away.  I listen carefully be can't hear their heart beats anymore.  E wakes and we take them out into the woods. Soren uses his magic breath to incinerate them.  I say a prayer for them and then we head back.

E takes out the carrier and cleans up the bathroom.  I get started on the breakfast. "Ryker, you have incoming.  Alpha Lake's second is bring 5 new arrivals to you.  You'll be getting more as the day goes on" dad links me.  "Thanks dad, we are going to need more food" I say. "Your father has been onto our supplies.  You'll have the new orders delivered later today. But the new fridge, freezer and stove will be delivered this morning" he tells me.

I thank him and add some more meat into the big pot of stew I have cooking on a small camp stove.  The smell of the food wakes the others up.  E comes and starts making up 10 bottles of formula.  "Help, we have dirty diapers" Fin calls.  Akio goes to help.  Kieryn and Kai are sitting at the table, munching on some jam sandwiches.

By the end of the day, we have new appliances fitted and working in the kitchen.   Gas tanks hooked up outside with more in storage.  We have also been busy putting the new bunk beds together and other furniture delivered.  Grandma Lucy sure gets things done.  We also have new blinds on all the windows.

The main pack helping out, as they are happier now that we will be separated from them.  I know its strange and a lot to take in.  But given time I think they'll adapt and accept them as part of the pack.  We now have 18 new arrivals not including the ones we already had.  Dad has had them move some of the pack trailers to us, so we can house everyone.  Pop has told me that workers will be arriving in the morning to start building the temporary dorm.  As well as a large outdoor cooking area.  Another team of builders will be arriving the next day.  I am drawing up plans for a new pack house and they will build our house as well as Micky's.  I've looked over the plans pop bought and found a perfect spot of Micky and another for us.  Which isn't too far from the pack house.  Thankfully, I'm able to link and talk to everyone, so they can understand. They range from ages between 10 and 17 years approximately.

Alpha Daniels has helped a lot.  I think he was wanting to impress Akio.  Not that he needed too. Akio follows him around wanting to touch him all the time.  Ryoku and Koroko, seem to be happy as long as they are in a room with other people.  Kieryn and so Kai have wanted to stay close to myside.  As Kai wants to be with Kieryn at all times.

Life is never going to be the same again for us.  Any of us.  But I feel as though I'm in the right place.  So does E, we are tired but feeling the happiness of the new pack.  It helps make it all worth the hard work.
