THE WIZARD [vkook]

2: nightly encounter

The ball was over for him shortly after that. Once his parents found out what happened, that a wanted man had been able to enter their private ball they immediately brought taehyung to safety.

and for them that safety was putting taehyung in his room and making him lock the door until they were sure it was safe. Taehyung being the obedient son he was, did as told and went up to his room locking the door behind him.

He didn't want to lock it, he was hesitating to even do it. Maybe this mysterious man would return? But what if he really was dangerous, Taehyung should risk it so he decided to follow his parent's words and lock the door.

So right now he was sitting on his balcony resting his head on his hands, he was bored already. He was having a lot of fun at the ball, it bothered him that it ended so quickly. His eyes went over the horizon, seeing the forest and the big mountains, he always wondered what lay behind the mountain walls. There is still so much he hasn't seen of the world. He was envious of the knights that came back with such cool stories of blue seas, different cultures and new kingdoms.

Taehyung wanted to see that too, he wanted to go with the knights to a different land, see new things, explore the earth. Yet here he was, sitting in his room being pretty. It's not like he hated this life, he just found out that there are better things to do. Once he came to know that there was a whole world outside his own kingdom he had been wishing to go there.

His parents always hid this fact from him until he came too old to hide it and he had to hear it from the horse boy that had been hearing stories from the knights. Taehyung was shocked and his curiosity to this outside world only grew the more years went by. So the point where he was wishing for it everyday, looking outside and wondering what it would be like outside the safe walls of his own kingdom.

This man... this purple eyed man. He said he didn't come from his world, so that must mean he comes from outside these walls. He knows! Taehyung smiled, he had to see this man again, he had to ask him about the world. And most importantly, he had to know his name.

Taehyung didn't know how he could have fallen asleep but he did. He could feel himself slowly waking up from the sudden cold breeze against his face. Uncomfortably he shifted his arms moving over the cold balcony edge. He should get in bed but he was too sleepy to open his eyes yet.

well that was, until he heard a noise next to him.

footsteps?

Taehyung shifted again trying to get back to sleep when he heard it again, but louder. Immediately his eyes shot open and he looked right at a person standing on his balcony. He yelped in shock and stumbled back falling off his chair.

"Who are you!?" he shouted looking at the man in fear.

"Ah my apologies. i didn't mean to scare you"

That voice, he recognized it from before.

"you...Why are you here!?" Taehyung frowned and slowly got up on his feet staring at the man who he met at the ball. The mask was not on his face this time, it was hanging at his belt around his hips, tied with a golden rope.

"I came to return this" The raven haired man said and pointed to a neatly folded cape that he had placed on the prince's balcony.

"where did you get that, did you steal from me?" Taehyung frowned, maybe this man was indeed bad, a thief, he did not want a thief.

"I just borrowed it for a moment to hide from your guards. That's all, so now I am returning it to you. I have no need for it anymore."

"Who are you?" taehyung stood in front of the man, looking at his face that was now visible to him. He was beyond handsome, his two colored eyes were already interesting enough. but it was even better together with his facial features. The sharp eyes and jawline, his elegant bow arched lips and his rather long intense black hairs. This man did not look like he came from here, nothing about him was something from this kingdom, not even his clothes. his whole style was different, nothing like taehyung had seen before.

"Why do you want to know so badly? It's dangerous to know who I am, even for you" the man chuckled.

"Because you interest me"

"How cute, well i might be able to tell you something small"

"your name"

"my name?" the man chuckled and shook his head. "That's quite a demand my Prince, but since it's you I will grant your request" the man took a step back to bow at the Prince, his black locks falling over his face when he bent his torso down. "the name is Jeon Jungkook, a Wizard from another world"

"Jeon Jungkook, I do now know that family name. and a Wizard? How is that possible? We only have two wizards here."

"Like I said, I'm not from your beautiful world. But you asked for my name, and I gave you my title. Anyway, I should get going. lots to be done before my departure from here"

"departure? where are you going?"

"Beyond the horizon, far away from where anyone can find me. visit the mountains, travel through the seas and skies." Jungkook said and moved his hand over the horizon where the moon shined its light.

"Really, you've been there?!" Taehyung's eyes widened and he looked at the horizon then back at Jungkook.

"Of course, I've been to all kinds of places. Here, take a look at this." Jungkook opened the small pouch that hung at his hip belt and took out a glowing flower. "This comes from Azaria, a place in the middle of the ocean, it got all of these glowing plants"

"That's beautiful. i'd love to see it one day" taehyung sighed looking at the flower. this will probably be the only thing he will ever get to see from the outside world.

"You've never been to other lands before?"

"I haven't left this kingdom even once. My parents wants me to focus on becoming a good king in the future. But I don't want to be stuck in one place. i'm not good for the throne"

"why not? isn't it great to be able to live this life and rule a land?"

"It's not as fun as you think. I want to travel like the knights do, see places and come back with stories. meet new people and explore new worlds."

"Well, come with me then" Jungkook smiled and put the flower away.

"i... I can't. I have to stay here. and i barely know you" taehyung chuckled at the last part. Even if he didnt know Jungkook, he didn't seem dangerous to him. at least not yet.

"That's a shame, I'd love a travel companion. it gets quite lonely on long journeys."

"don't you have a friend?"

"no, I don't have time to make friends. I have one friend, and that is my home"

"how does that work?'' Taehyung raised a brow. "a building can be your friend jungkook."

"my home lives!" Jungkook saw Taehyung chuckled and he frowned. "I'm serious, ugh, whatever. i really have to go now, i need to supply my food for the rest of my travel, we might meet again"

"i hope so"

"don't get your hopes up, I'm not a good person my Prince" Jungkook grinned and sat down on the balcony edge, swinging his legs over the side.

"wait- '' but jungkook already jumped down. Taehyung looked down in shock, but it was too dark to see the bottom. But since Jungkook did it before, the man would be fine. A strange unnatural thought. How can someone survive jumping from these heights? it didn't make sense. But then again, not a lot that Jungkook said just now made any sense.

with a sigh Taehyung turned around to go back inside, but he saw something glowing. On his balcony table Jungkook had left the glowing flower. Taehyung smiled and took it inside with him. He will treasure this flower as long as it lives.
