23: into the magical horizon

The two arrived at a nice flat grass field near the edge of the floating island.
Taehyung put the bag down next to Jungkook's and looked around. "sooo...How are we supposed to find Zuzu back?"

"I just call her and she comes to us" Jungkook opened the left side of his jacket and took out a small silver flute shaped whistle. When he blew the thing it released a high pitched sound that was barely audible for humans. Jungkook stopped and sat down in the soft flowy grass. "and, now we wait"

"Can she actually hear that?"

"don't underestimate animals' hearing, she can hear that. And she will come, she always does!" Jungkook smiled and plucked a small blue glowing flower. They were quite similar to daisies. Only...Daisies did not glow. "here, a flower for a prince just as beautiful"

"a-ah, thank you" taehyung was caught off guard by that and blushed. But he took the flower nonetheless. A smile formed on his lips while he put the flower behind his ear.

"y-you're quite handsome yourself too, but i don't have any flowers in my reach" taehyung said back and held out a few grass strands.

The wizard chuckled and took the grass, putting them in his hair. "well, thank you, your Highness. Oh oh, would you look at that. It seems our ride has arrived '' Jungkook got up and he extended a helping hand to the human. "may i led you my hand, sir?"

"Of course kind sir" the two kept playing along with each other until they were both on their feet. They laughed softly and smiled happily.

"It's so fun to have you around." Jungkook said while he walked to Zuzu that landed in front of them and bowed her head to them as a greeting. Jungkook hugged her nose and gave her a few pats. "Good day Zuzu. Did you have fun?"

The Turtle hummed in agreement.

"that's good, let me now take off your wrapping." Jungkook walled further to her front flipper and took his small pocket knife, cutting open the bandages around her wound. It got off easily and showed a fully healed skin. A scar was still visible but it was completely closed and heed as best it could. "look at that, you healed so well. You're such a strong girl." Jungkook stood up and looked back seeing Zuzu her head turned to look at him. "are you ready to go further? We still have a long way to go."

Taehyung wasn't sure who Jungkook was talking to right now so he and the turtle both nodded, making the wizard chuckle.

"Alright, Tae. Grab on, we are going to unpack in the cabin."

"Okay, hi Zuzu. it's good to see you" taehyung said to Jungkook and petted Zuzu her nose while he approached the wizard. Together with the help of Jungkook's powers they floated on her back and headed inside the cabin to unpack.

After a break and preparations the group had flown off below the isles, searching for those delicious flowers.

"do they really grow here?" Taehyung asked, looking up, the bottom part of the floating chunk of land was just rocks and sand. He didn't think anything would grow here.

"Yes they do, we should be able to find some soon." And they did. Suddenly at the next small floating island Taehyung saw a white flower growing upside down. a thick stem held the white closed bell shaped flower. and there were more, this was a great harvest spot.

"look!"

"Good job, let's go get some treats for on the way," Jungkook smiled and guided Zuzu to slowly float under the floating rock. but she was not able to get right under it because of the house on her back. so she went next to it as close as she could.

"how are we going to get to them? We will fall if we get so close to the end of her shell, "Taehyung said with a small pout.

"Give me a second, wait here" Jungkook said and he buttoned his jacket closed with the two buttons at his waist. He then got over the fence on Zuzu's back and jumped up, a movement of air circled around him making him able to float in front of the flowers and grab a good handful of the honey filled flowers, he held them in his hands and slowly glided down back on the safety of Zuzu het garden shell.

"you're literally so cool," Taehyung smiled and helped Jungkook carry the treats.

"Thank you" Jungkook chuckled and they walked back into the cabin, letting zuzu to fly them to their next location.

"so, where are we going now?"

"We are heading to the kingdom. It all happened. It's also called 'mainland' because it's the biggest and lowest located piece of land. It feels as if you're on the actual ground of this void"

"but it's suspected that isn't the actual ground. What is the ground then? how high are we?"

"No one knows, we live all on lands that are scattered in this void. The mainland is said to be the only piece of land that holds multiple kingdoms and regions, but recently it started to show cracks, which revealed that below it is another void that we haven't been to. me and my friend have no idea what's below the 'mainland' maybe even more islands, who knows.'' Jungkook said. "but that doesnt matter, our world is built differently, but we are used to it. Everything is still living and growing."

"Your world holds so many things that I want to know the answer to. You really make me wonder what is below that mainland thing."

"Me too, but... i don't want to go down there, i have the feeling whatever is below that land shouldnt be explored."

"why so?" Taehyung asked and the two sat down on the couch with a drink, the honey flowers placed in a bowl to snack from.

"I'm not quite sure but, when i came too close to one of these cracks i could feel a heavy weight pull at me, the aura down there just felt so suffocating. There have even been disappearances from people that decided to go there. It's a mysterious thing. So i dont think it's something we should mess with. as if.... as if the world is sick, like its a wound... i don't know, i'm just speculating here"

"it does sound bad"

"yes, so let me already warn you, when we reach the land don't go near those cracks"

"how will i recognise them? how big are they?"

"You will know when you see one, they are very big. you can not miss them."

"Also Jungkook. uhm when you were talking with seokjin he said that even if you killed the other me that you wouldn't remember... what did that mean?" As soon as the prince asked this, Jungkook; s face tensed.

"that i might not have been aware" is all jungkook said.

"What do you mean?"

"Talk about something else, don't ask me any more questions about it," Jungkook said shortly and stood up walking to the kitchen.

"you always avoid answering anything i ask about you? why won't you tell me more about yourself or that time, i have the feeling you're hiding things from me, it makes me unable to feel at ease all the time."

"i...please dont feel uncomfortable, you're safe with me, I promise. I would never hurt you. I just don't want to talk about those things''

"why not, just tell me why. You're leaving so many things o-"

"Because you would not understand, no one understands" Jungkook put the glass down on the counter a bit too harshly, creating a crack in the glass. He looked at the glass and scoffed, walking away out of the room and out of the cabin.
