31: memories that were once his

The next morning came and Jungkook was the first to wake up. He barely got any sleep. He kept thinking about the memories he captured, what would he see? What really happened that day? Would he be disappointed? So many questions made him restless.

But he didnt stress all the time, he found something to calm his mind and body.....Looking at Taehyung.

Yes yes, he knew he must look like a complete creep by staring at him like that but he can't help it. Just being so close made him feel so relaxed.

He felt something similar to when he was friends with Taehyung...Is this what he meant by moving on?

He can't say anything for sure right now. But he does know that even if he never opens his mouth about this it will not change his word.

He will get Taehyung through here and back home safely. Everything was planned for the outsider. The only thing left is to actually get to the finish line of this whole thing.

Jungkook would like to send the human off back to his own world personally.

"i will be right back, i will check the memory, i will tell you about it when you are awake" jungkook said and silently got out of bed. Making sure to close the covers behind him so the other won't be cold.

He got himself dressed and brushed his teeth before making his way downstairs and into the garden.
He sat down cross legged with the gem in both his hands. The memories swirling around inside the stone prison.

"okay, you can do this....'' Jungkook told himself and took a deep breath. At a steady pace he unleashes steadily his element powers on the stone and it starts to glow. The memories touched his fingertips and then it happened....

'he stood on the grass hill a long stick in his hand poking into the sand below his feet, he was always a little impatient while waiting for his friend

Who this time was a little late.

With a sigh he decided to swing the stick away. Trying to throw it as far as he could. A disappointing throw if he had to be honest. Jungkook could do better than that. But he was an adventurer....

Taehyung sighed, he doesnt get why Jungkook doesn't just go and travel. Why stick here, him chasing a better life will not affect their friendship. Taehyung tried to tell him so many times but Jungkook never listened. All of Jungkoom's friends were here in this city and area. He can not bear to leave this place and be alone again. He was clinging onto what he had here. He will not listen to anyone, not even Taehyung.

It's not like taehyung wants him to go, he likes jungkook, he was the best person you could have in your life. But he could tell Jungkook wasn't happy. But today he will try to talk to him one last time.

Taehyung looked at the setting sun but suddenly heard a twig cracking behind him. He turned his head around to the bushes and the forest edge behind him. He waited and looked for a long time but nothing seemed to move again.

So he assumed it was a boar or something. There are a lot of wild animals in this forest after all. And that assumption was wrong. This wrong thought made him turn around and before he could process the sound that went through the air it was already too late. An immense pain went through his chest and he clasped his torso looking down. Seeing a silver bloody arrow tip sticking from his chest.

"a-..a-ah '' he gasped for air while groaning in pain. "h-help..." His legs became weaker and weaker until he fell down. "j-jungkook.....n...No" he fell forward and it was over. He could only look through his eyes as the human figure stepped from the shadows....

'...'

With a gasp Jungkook dropped the burning hot gem and clasped his chest. A pained groan left his lips as he got onto his knees. His fingers gripping his shirt tightly. "f-fuck, ugh ah shit" he cursed while the pain of the arrow slowly started to fade. A side effect of reviewing memories he hated. Seeing such a memory won't just let you see through their eyes, it will put you in the owner's body, it will share the same pain and feelings.

"Jungkook! What happened?!" Taehyung's voice was heard. The Wizard looked up trying to get his expression normal, but failing to do so.

The human fell on his knees next to Jungkook and began to look for any wounds, not finding any luckily. "what happened? Are you okay? Wha-oh..."

"I viewed the memory..It ended before I could see the killer's face. But I saw...i felt him...Get shot......T-that...That he had to feel such pain....." Jungkook felt guilty for not coming there sooner. Even if he shouldn't blame himself for what happened this thought will always nag at him and make him unable to get peace with the memories.

"i'm sorry...." Taehyung wasn't sure if he read the other correctly, but he did it anyway. Wrapping his arms around the wizard and pull him into a hug. It felt a bit stiff at first but he relaxed when he felt the raven melt into his hold. "we will find the one responsible, no matter what..."

"You two would have gotten along well.... It's funny, you two are so different." Jungkook chuckled. They stayed like that for a moment until they sadly felt it was time to let go.

"what will we do now?" Taehyung asked.

"We stick to our plan, we go to that village and ask around."

"okay...but first we have to eat, especially you. You look exhausted, did you not sleep well?"

"not really.. But that is alright."

"oh no i didn't keep you awake did i? Did I snore?"

"no no dear, you were not the problem. Its just my own mind keeping me from sleeping. I think once we get some more answers i will be able to sleep more comfortably on my own"

"I hope so," Taehyung smiled with a slight blush from the nickname.

sorry the chapter is so short. I had it planned longer but i forgot i had work yesterday and hsd to cut it off here. So i am editing this a day later than i told you all😭 im sorry again.
