43: thinking of him

Its been a week since Taehyung left the other world. Things have been returning to normal at a slow pace. His family was beyond happy to see him return home 'unharmed'. They welcomed him with love and the whole city celebrated it with a big celebration. Which was today.

It was... A lot. So to escape this hectic day he had disappeared to his balcony. Staring out into the distance with a sad face.

He wasn't happy at all...He thought he wanted to go back home, he thought it was good to go back, he belonged here.....It's not that he was ungrateful or doesn't want their care....Taehyung just didn't feel happy here. He had seen what was out there, he had met someone who he wanted to be with.

But again, he was stuck in this palace. Back in a path that his parents made for him. Even now after all he did and returned safe they still refused to let him decide for himself.

The Prince leaned on the edge. His jewelry clinging against the stone. He wants to go back, he missed him so much.

"....Jungkook...." he whispered to himself. Not that the raven would come, or even hear him at all. "Why am I back here...I should be out there!" Taehyung said and stepped back waving his hands in defeat as he stared at the horizon.

He was about to head back to the party when his eyes caught sight on a ship that anchored down behind their palace.

"Captain, we are short on fresh water!" a crew mate shouted at the tall man that walked down the wooden stairs.

"Lucky for you, that's why we are here," Hoseok said and patted the guy's shoulder. "Get the barrels down! Pay them with silver. Don't touch the gold, that is staying with us" he chuckled and gave his commands while keeping an eye out on their work. It was a casual day so far.

"Captain Hoseok?" a gentle voice said behind the man.

"oh, who do we have here? Jungkook's dear human" Hoseok said while he turned around and bowed at the Prince with his hat held against his chest.

"a-ah....Yea" taehyung blushed a little at the title. "uhm. I didn't expect you to be here"

"i could say the same to you. Shouldnt you ba safe inside that glamorous palace of yours?"

"I snuck out when I saw your ship. I didn't get to thank you properly last time.'' Taehyung said and looked at Hoseok who put his hat back on. The Captain who had welcomed him on his ship when he was taken through the gap. The one who sailed him all the way back to his own home. It was nice to see a familiar face....It reminded him that everything that happened was real.

"oh, but there is no need to thank me. I made Jungkook a promise and I will keep to it. And besides, a friend...Or more, Jungkook is a friend of mine. You are always welcome here."

"thank you" taehyung smiled. "Where are you leaving off to now?"

"not far. We are just moving around to restock. But I have no plans to sail faraway for a few weeks more." Hoseok said and smiled. He was requested to hang around this city. Or more specifically, around Taehyung. For his safety. Jungkook doesn't want him doing anything stupid or getting hurt. Jungkook knows that he is not the only one that can just walk in both worlds.

"oh, i see"

"so, you're  going back to the party now? It's all for you, you know.."

"i don't feel like it. I should be enjoying the celebration but I just feel sad.... I miss Jungkook, Hoseok. He said he would come see me in about a month. Its just been one week and i am already wishing he was here." taehyung's expression saddened and he flopped down onto a barrel that stood on the docks. He sighed deeply staring at Hoseok's boots.

"I know, and trust me. He feels like that as well. But you can trust him, if he said he will come back to you here then that is what he will do. He is a loyal man."

Taehyung smiled hearing that. Hearing good things about jungkook made him happy. "it's good to hear his friends talk to highly of him"

"he really is. I may assume you've met Seokjin as well?" hoseok said and after getting a nod from the other he continued. "he was like his, caretaker or family figure. Their relationship is... hard to explain. But what I want to say is that Seokjin has seen more sides of Jungkook than I have. Even the ugly ones. And still he would do it again. He was afraid that he would be alone out there. Jungkook had never had a lot of...Friends" hoseok smiled sadly. "but i'm sure it makes him feel relieved knowing that he got you"

"i...Haven't seen Seokjin since the first time..."

"news spread fast through the right person."

"Your Highness!" a voice shouted followed by the metal sound of knights running.

"took them long enough...." Taehyung sighed and got off the barrel to turn to the guards. Adjusting his posture to his elegant one.

"Your Father is demanding you to return to the palace immediately. People are worried for your safety"

"i will return shirtly. Let me send my goodbye's to this friendly Captain here" Taehyung said and slightly bowed his head to the knights in respect. They accepted his request and stood back.

"well, it seems your sneaking didn't go completely unnoticed"

"it's definitely better than before," Taehyung chuckled. Before he would never dare to climb down his balcony the way he did today.

"Alright, you go back to your life now. We will meet again soon" Hoseok said and turned around on his heels. He waved his hands at his crew that almost finished stocking up. "Everyone get on board! We sail Noth!"

"See you, Captain" The Prince smiled and  turned around, following the knights back to the palace.
