42: downfall

The night fell and the two finally made it back between Ouvasta walls. Zuzu had been set free to roam as she pleased while her two friends went into the city.

Jungkook and Taehyung not walking behind each other but close next to each other. "You know, i didn't think you would have been up for this adventure when i first met you."

"really?" Taehyung chuckled and glanged at the other. It wasn't crowded in the streets so they didn't have to move for anyone. Most people were already inside their homes or asleep. Almost all of those they passed outside were patrols of the night watch or workers heading home.

"I knew about you. I knew where to find you. I learned about your wish to explore and I used that to shoot my shot to get your help. And now instead of being something that can help me get my freedom I gained a travel companion. A friend....Well....Something more than a friend"

"yea...." Taehyung smiled shyly.

"we just. Didn't have the proper time to work on it more" The wizard chuckled and they halted in front of the Park's house. "once this is over. Will you give me a chance?"

Taehyung fell silent. Was he really asking if he sees them in a possible future together? The human knows things were from both sides. But hearing it like this made his heart race. The hesitation he felt at first vanished.  "Of course. I'd love to"

"Then that's settled, we have more plans ahead of us.But first. Let's put an end to this mess I got you involved in. When it's done your eye problem should disappear too, it's just something temporary. Don't stress over it" The raven patted Taehyung's shoulder but then gave him a hug. A hug felt better.

"Are you guys gonna come inside or..." a sudden voice interrupted them. The two looked in the doorway where Jimin stood, standing in a slightly opened doorway with a raised brow. "You guys too forever to return. Got us worried sick, not even a letter"

"relax, we weren't even gone for that long" Jungkook rolled his eyes and they got inside.

"well then any news?" Jimin closed the door and followed his friends inside the living room. When he did he noticed Taehyung's eyes and he had to double check. Jungkook noticed the blonde was about to speak up but he grabbed his raising hand and shook his head.

"not a word," Jungkook said softly. Jimin looked puzzled but he nodded nonetheless and kept the words to himself.

"I have come to report to the judge tomorrow. I've got it all set. I will get my freedom back"

"what did you find out?" Jimin asked.

"I found something that can prove I was not there at the time of the crime. I can not share what I found exactly. It's best to keep it to myself until after their adjusted verdict."

"Let's hope it goes well....They are not the ones to go easy, they have already granted you time to gather your evidence. They will not be so gullible a second time."

"I know, don't worry. I got it all under control"

Jimin gave the wizard a silent look. Jungkook sighed. "it hasn't happened since. I got this, i can stay calm, whatever happens in there tomorrow"

"i really hope you do, or this will be the end of your story. And I don't want that. You are a dear friend. Don't fuck this up" Jimin said and pointed his finger at the raven while he walked past them. "I am going to bed. Goodnight you two, breakfast is at seven, we open shop at eight."

"goodnight," the two guests said and after drinking some hot tea with a small snack they also went upstairs to their previous guest room and took a good rest in the soft warm beds.
