30: transferring knowledge

The two had a good walk back to the city. By the time they arrived back at the pharmacy the sun had already started to set, making the city radiate an orange glow. Taehyung wondered how the city would look at night since it seemed to have been built to center around the sun.

For an answer to that he will have to wait a little longer.

"So, as far as I know it's best to remove lingering memories before bed since the host might get a reaction where they feel unexpectedly drained. It's not for everyone, but there is a possibility. But if you prefer to do this tomorrow then that is fine too" Jungkook spoke while they hung their coats in the hallway and took off their shoes.

"now is good...I-if it really doesn't hurt we can do it now"

"it won't hurt, I promise. Don't worry" the wizard chuckled and ruffled Taehyung's hair. Unable to resist the sudden urge to do so. The action surprised both of the men who blushed a little and everted their eyes from each other. "s-sorry, i uh.."

"it's fine" Taehyung said shyly.

"Let's get to it...Then...Yea" Jungkook and Taehyung went to their room and the raven had called Jimin over for 'safety'. Its best to have an actual medic while doing this. They can advise to get the nausea away as soon as it arrives.

"so, what are you waiting for?" Jimin asked, trying to hold his excitement. This will be his first time seeing this act with his own eyes. He heard about it but never actually saw anyone perform it.

"Once Taehyung is ready" Jungkook answered and waited patiently for Taehyung to lay down on the bed and relax. Once the human gave the 'okay' sign he got up on his knees and grabbed the shimmering white gem from the nightstand.

"Okay, just relax. It won't hurt, three...Two...One" Jungkook counted down and then began the spell. His hand went in a circle and his fingers spread out, slowly thin yellow lines started to float out of Taehyung's head towards Jungkook's finger tips.

"wow!" Jimin gasped and leaned closer to take a better look. "So those are... memories?"

"They are" Jungkook nodded and waited for the lines to stop and he had a yellow swirling ball of energy in his hand. Quickly he used the gem and let the memories take the gem as their new host, sealing it in the gem. "There we go, we got our first caught memories. How do you feel Tae?" Jungkook asked and put the gem away. As much as he wanted to see them right away, first he needed to know if Taehyung was alright.

"it felt really weird, but it doesnt hurt. Its just like i have a headache right now..." Taehyung smiled and rubbed his forehead. "so it worked?"

"Glad you are not feeling any bad effects, the headache should pass after a few minutes. And yes, it worked. We got the memories here in the gem."

"that's great, then we will get a step closer to the truth."

"Yes we will" Jungkook smiled and looked at Taehyung with soft eyes.

"a-ah, am i still needed here...Or...." Jimin said feeling left out all of the sudden.

"yes, I also wanted to check with you about the nearby city. The one on the other side of the hill" Jungkook cleared his throat and averted his eyes from Taehyung.

"You mean Rentha, yes i know it. Its indeed a small city. Some might even confuse it for a village, why?"

"it's said that the criminal headed that direction. We are planning to go there and ask for any clues to where they might have gone next."

"i see, well its a nice place. We deliver lots of medicine there since they do not have their own healthcare. Im sure they will be open to help you." Jimin smiled. "but...Does that mean you are already leaving?" his face turned sad. His friend and guest just showed up here and are already planning to leave? Jimin didn't even get a chance to properly get to know Taehyung.

"No no, we will come back. Until traces lead to the floating lands we will stay here if that is okay with you and your family. We don't want to be a bother"

"Jungkook, you are never a bother. You are considered part of the family. Don't worry about how long you say, the room is always free for you, and also for your friend Taehyung here.

"Parner, we are traveling partners now." Jungkook said and gave a smile to Taehyung who looked proudly and smiled back.

"t-that sounds nice" he said shyly and got comfortable on the bed.

"alright, that will be all Jimin. I didn't have much to ask you.. I'm sorry we didn't have time to properly catch up, bjt i promise I will tell you everything once I get my complete freedom and have more time."

"it's all good, just don't disappear again or worse, die." Jimin stood up and placed a hand in Jungkook's shoulder. Then he left the room after greeting Taehyung a good night. On his way out he left some headache lessening medicine on the nightstand, just in case.

"alright. Let's get some rest then, it's been a busy day. I think we, and especially you, need to sleep" the two had gone to bed, sharing the same bed again. But each time it felt warmer and warmer being so close during the night. It was starting to feel fuzzy laying down like this.

Fuzzy but.....Comfortable.
