48: strange transportation

He stood there at the edge like a mighty hero of a book. From a distance he looked confident and cool. But in reality he was lost in thoughts trying to figure out how he even was going to get off these floating islands without falling to his death. He could ask Seokjin. He lives nearby in the city. Maybe he could give some advice on how to get to Ouvasta the quickest.

Yes, that's the start of his plan. With a firm nod he turned around and headed to the city jumping over the cracks from one piece of land to the other. A really dangerous place to be if you didn't look out.

After a short walk he arrived at the same house that Jungkook first introduced him to. A nervously shaky hand reached up to the door and gave three rather soft knocks.

"relax, keep your cool" he mumbled to himself and unconsciously took his royal posture. Falling into the act of royalty that would give him fake confidence. This way was so burned into him he probably will never get rid of it.

But he was startled out of it when the door clicked open and a surprised Seokjin was revealed.

"oh my, i did not expect to see you here.....Alone?" the older asked puzzled. He glanced around but saw no Jungkook. "did something happen, come on inside. It's safer here"

"safer, what do you mean? Is it not safe anymore?" Taehyung asked while following the taller inside the house to the living room.

"Well, yes but. That is when you are with Jungkook, and seeing he is not here right now means that something went wrong. And you will be an easy target for criminals."

"o-oh" Taehyung gulped.

"Anyway, first things first, you want some tea?"

"sure"

"Alright, now tell me what happened," seokjin asked while he went to prepare the tea.

Taehyung began to explain the situation. For Jungkook who came to a deal for his sentence, the time he was away and now what he was back to find him.

"I see, so he really is away," seokjin sighed. "I hope he isn't in jail, the poor soul doesn't deserve that. He is innocent."

Taehyung looked up with a suspicious frown when he heard that. "wait, before you said he was evil and i should be on my guard around him."

"It's something complicated. It is not my position to tell you the details. But I stand with what I said. Be in your guard around him and do NOT trust him." Seokjin said firm.

"why, he seems like a good person to me"

"oh, he is. My Jungkook is a good person. But it's just a warning. I hope you will never come to find out why."

"o-okay i will.'' Taehyung looked down at his now empty cup. He wasn't sure what Seokjin tried to tell him.

"Anyway, you need to get to Ouvasta right?" Seokjin started the next subject.

"Yes, but I can't just jump down, that would kill me. So uh i don't know how to get there. Jungkook had his turtle"

"Well, you could take the jellyfish transport," Seokjin replied. Not the answer Taehyung was expecting.

"Jellyfish-what?" he frowned.

"transport, haven't you seen them? Zuzu isn't the only big creature here. We have giant jellyfish that we use to float our way around the area. It's also used for our export to our neighbors. We can see if anyone is heading that direction." Seokjin smiled. For him this was normal but Taehyung wasn't sure if he should be surprised or shocked.....Probably both.

"uh, sure...I guess" he said puzzled and looked at seokjin who abruptly stood up and waved his hands at him to do the same.

"Well then, let's go right away. You got food for on the way? Money?"

"Yeah, I got everything. Wait are we-"

"I'm going to get you on that transport, the sooner you get to ouvasta the better. I sadly can not come with you. But I will wish for your safety." Seokjin said to the boy that followed him, still a bit confused, trying to get his thoughts straight again.

"thank you" the two  stepped outside and Seokjin closed the door behind them before walking to the left

"alright. This way, the next one leaves in fifteen minutes so we gotta hurry."

The two had arrived at the central export docks at the edge of the main island. Luckily, it is just a walk away. Seokjin was talking to the owner of the Jellyfish while Taehyung  was examining the creature.

"This is unbelievable," he muttered while walking around the glowing Jellyfish that floated at the edge of the docks, waiting patiently to depart.

"He is a beautiful creature. Very friendly too" the owner said while he approached the other.

"oh, hello. Yes he is indeed beautiful. I have never seen anything like it before"

"I assume you're not from here? Judging by your eyes I'd say Ouvasta, sun people" the man said, he had a very friendly voice and expressions. He looked like good company.

"Yes, he is trying to get back. His ride home had to leave early, he came to visit me." Seokjin replied before Taehyung could say anything.

"your business is not my concern, if you need a ride I'd be happy to take you along to my next destination." The man smiled. "i sadly can not take you all the way, i have to follow my scheduled route. But a work colleague I know will take you further." he walked to the jellyfish and hopped in the bouncy top taking a seat on the flat pillow seats that were attached on the top and collected the two reigns. "we should leave within this minute so whenever you're ready"

Taehyung nodded and turned to Seokjin. "thank you so much"

"No problem, please find your jungkook fast, you're not safe without him right now, '' Seokjin said while holding the other's shoulders. "Also be careful, the world is falling apart more than before. The transports will take you to the nearest city outside Ouvasta grounds. From there you can walk to the city."

"i will. Thanks" Taehyung smiled and went on the jellyfish sitting down next to the man.

"oh, and if you see him give him a hug from me and tell him he should come see me soon."

"will do!'' Taehyung shouted back. The jellyfish was already floating away slowly. And before he knew it they were off. Now there was no turning back, he had left the floating islands where the gate to home was.

One island done, one step closer to the truth.

A thing that will once again change everything.......
