7: his friend Zuzu

Jungkook had taken the lead to walk them through the streets while taehyung followed him, looking back over his shoulder time to time. He was actually leaving this place, but now they were walking away from the palace. He didn't feel bad about it. yes he most likely will worry his parents, but Taehyung felt like he had to do this. like this is the path he had to walk on.

"You are quite silent, is something on your mind?" Jungkook asked and glanced behind him at the prince.

"no, nothing much. just thinking about what i am doing right now"

"don't worry, it's gonna be fine, you're going to love it out there"

"So uhm, how do you travel? in your book you said that some places are only accessible through air travel? Do you have a balloon?"

"Haha, a balloon. no no my dear, i have my friend Zuzu, she takes me everywhere where i need to go and makes sure i have a home everywhere i go."

"zuzu, i've read about her, can she fly? but that's not possible, humans can't fly"

"No they can't, but she is no human. She is a giant turtle!" Jungkook said cheerfully and opened his hands when they reached the edge of the forest where in the middle of a sandy path a huge turtle came from the ground. The small cabin house that was on top of the ground rose up with the turtle its back. she had been hiding inside a big hole in the ground.

"oh... my .... that is huge!" Taehyung's eyes widened and he took a few steps back. He had never seen such a creature. It was so big.

"don't be scared, she is very kind, she isn't dangerous at all"

"b-but... thats... like a mon-"

"shhh, don't call her that, she will get offended. be nice" Jungkook quickly shushed the prince and took his hand pulling him closer to the giant turtle. it had a piece of land on its back with a rope ladder hanging off the side of her back. "Come, meet her" they came to the turtle's head and he lowered her head to them. placing it against jungkook as a greeting while she let the wizard stroke her nose. "Zuzu, I found Taehyung, he will join us on our travel. Taehyung, meet Zuzu."

The turtle made a low hum and bowed her head at the new guest, taking one heavy step forward to get closer.

"She wants you to pet her nose too. it's a way for her to greet us humans''

"o-oh... o-okay" taehyung extended a shaking hand and hovered it above the giant turtle's nose but he shook his head and retracted it. "no no, what if she bites me!"

"she won't, don't be silly. here" jungkook snatched the prince's wrist and placed taehyung's hand on Zuzu her nose making taehyung gasp. Zuzu had such a warm and soft nose, and she didn't bite. she let the new guest pet her until satisfied and raised her head up again. "Alright, are you ready to head on top? she will rise up once we are set."

"o-okay... yes... yes get on... a giant.. turtle.. that will fly... totally normal" Taehyung said, a bit dazed by all this. He took Jungkook's hand who pulled him closer and snaked his arm around his waist and took a jump. Taehyung doesn't know how it was possible but Jungkook just went up in the air with ease and they landed on top of the giant turtle. completely skipping the rope ladder.

"oh my god, how did you do that?!"

"Wizard stuff, I'm born with it," Jungkook chuckled and walked over the cute grass field on top of the turtle's back towards the small cabin with a small wooden fence around it. as if it was a small piece of land on her back with a house. a private home.

" This is my house. well, my travel home. It's not my actual house of course, that's somewhere else. But take a look around, we will leave in a minute. i have to grab something from my kitchen" jungkook disappeared in the small cabin house and l et taehyung to explore.

Which he did. He looked around away from the cabin and saw a few trees growing on her back, flowers in the field. and some crocks behind the cabin. not big ones, but definitely rocks. And even a pond with fish inside, he looked into the water seeing a group of koi happily swimming around in their big pond with lillies on top. He was amazed how such a land was on top of a turtle, it's so unreal for him. but he was seeing it with his own eyes, he was literally on top of this creature, so it was definitely real. He can't deny it now. And this made him only more curious what else there was to see. were there more like Zuzu? maybe other big animals that were livable? who knows, taehyung was ver all very excited for this journey. He felt like this was the right choice, he shouldn't worry too much. In his happy feeling he grabbed his own diary book from his bag and quickly wrote down his meeting with zuzu and that it was a giant turtle that was said to be able to fly.

"You have your own diary with you" jungkook' voice was next to him and he looked to the side.

"Yes, I read yours and thought it would be good to keep my own so I can tell my people about my adventure when I return."

"That's lovely, you will have a lot to tell them," Jungkook smiled and handed Taehyung a hot steamed bun on a small wooden plate. "i prepared some steamed buns while i waited for you this night, please have one"

"thank you" taehyung smiled and put the book down next to his bag taking a bite of the fresh bun. "oooh, it's delicious"

"glad you like them, let's fly away now then shall we?"

"okay, yes"

"Come stand with me here near the edge, and do hold on to the side. taking off might be a bit bumpy, she had been injured and still struggled a bit to get herself off the ground. but don't worry, she is a strong one"

"okay.." Taehyung had no idea about all this. He just took Jungkook's words without saying anything back. Like the raven said he took a hold of the wooden fence at the edge of where Zuzu her head was.

"Zuzu, let's go. We will continue south to the Tyrano kingdom. up!"

and at that word the turtle began to move, its back moving a bit unsteady side to side as she began to walk. but the more her steps went on the more steady the ground became and then she seemed to jump up and rise off the ground as if there was no gravity. her flippers were her wings that kept them surfing the air going higher and higher. The city below them got smaller and smaller.

"aaaah, oh my god this is awesome!!!'' Taehyung shouted, holding the steamed bun well in his hand as he looked over the edge to the disappearing city. "we're actually flying!!! I'm flying!!!" he excitedly began walking along the edge and looking down at all the sides. Jungkook followed closely behind him with a fond smile.

He didn't set bars around the turtle's shell so he was a bit worried the prince might trip and fall off if he wasn't careful. Taehyung had never done this before, he could easily lose balance if he came too close to the edge.

"be careful prince dear, can't have you falling down now" jungkook chuckled and grabbed taehyung's jacket pulling him back a few meters away from the edge.

"yes yes, sorry. oh this is just so cool. This is amazing. my parents will not believe this!!"

"no they probably wont. flying animals like Zuzu are not normal here in your world"

"About that... you keep mentioning 'your world' and my world. What exactly is your world? Where do you come from?" Taehyung asked, turning to jungkook.

"well... it's a bit complicated but I can try to tell you as clearly as I can. it's going to sound really crazy"

"I don't think anything can be more crazy than a flying turtle with a house on her back '' Taehyung smiled and chuckled.

"Trust me, it can, '' Jungkook grinned and walked to the bench on the flower field in front of the cabin. "okay. take a seat, i will tell you about my world. you should know now you're going to travel with me."

"I am listening" the prince sat down and ate his hot steamed bun. waiting for Jungkook to tell the story.
