40: change of plan

Taehyung woke up that morning alone and immediately felt something was wrong. He remembered Jungkook that night. What if something happened again?

Immediately he stood up and got dressed. Sliding his feet into the fluffy skippers he rushed down the stairs.

"Jungkook? Where are you?" he called around the cabin. It wasn't a big house so he finished searching really fast. But he already saw him halfway down the hall...

He was outside.

Taehyung sighed in relief and left the cabin. There he was laying on his side.

"Jungkook?"

"goodmorning Tae dear!" Jungkook shot up and smiled. He looked just like when they were starting their journey. Playful and intriguing. "how did you sleep? I hope i didn't keep you awake too long"

"no...Not at all... But, what about you? You-"

"oh that. Don't mind that, I just overreacted. I had time to think about it and I feel fine now. Don't worry sweetheart"

Taehyung blushed at the sudden name. His heart was fluttering. "are you sure. You really seemed so panicked and you said things''

"Really, don't worry. It's fine. We got what we needed, everything is settled. We're heading back to Ouvasta now."

"Wait, already?? We didn't even catch the killer yet"

"That's true. But we got my innocence.I didn't do it"

"wait....I think i missed something..." Taehyung frowned and decided to sit down in front of Jungkook. Who looked way too cold to be outside like this.

"The people said I never left that island.
So that means i was also there when my world Taehyung got killed. Which means I am innocent and someone else is out there. And eventually I will catch him. But right now i need my freedom first."

"but then why didn't you say so right away?"

"I have a loss in memory as you know. So it might have disappeared somewhere in the past. i got this, no need to worry"

"okay.... if you say so, '' Taehyung said but he looked untrusting. He felt like Jungkook was a bit.... off. But he also doesn't want to ask too much right now. He will just bring this up later today. they still have a while of flying to go. But he didn't quite believe Jungkook.

But then...Why would he lie?

He wouldn't...Right..

"Are you hungry? I was thinking of boiling some eggs for salad and having some warm meat filled buns." Jungkook stood up wiping his clothes. He also wiped the back of his hand past his nose. The cold breeze from out here gave him a runny nose.

"Sounds lovely," Taehyung smiled. He decided to let go of it for now and come back to it later. When Jungkook was dressed and they had time. "But please get a shower and dress warm. You look like you've been freezing here. You could get sick"

"yes.....Yes yes ,i will go shower. Thank you" Jungkook smiled and he helped taehyung on his feet before they went back inside together.

As soon as the raven set one foot into the warmly heated cabin he felt as if hemis body started to melt. It had gotten so cold outside, he was glad to be back inside.

"I will prepare some for the food, you will warm up." Taehyung smiled and rubbed his hand over Jungkook's back. A warm tingle went through both their bodies. And out of nowhere the raven turned around and gave Taehyung a hug.

"o-oh" taehyung was surprised. But he melted into the hold with a smile. This was nice, he just wished he did it more often...

"sorry. I just wanted to hug you. I will go take that shower now" Jungkook said and nervously walked away.

And now Jungkook was out of the room, Taehyung had time to think. Something was not adding up to Jungkook's story. It's too sudden.... Did he miss something? He didn't think he did, he paid good attention to everything they did.

Maybe something that happened when they were split up? Or something he saw in that stone...Wait the memories!

Taehyung almost forgot about that. Jungkook saw the memories, something must have been in there that made him say that.

But then why did he react that way? Why did he seem so panicked?

"ugh.... I'm not smart like that" Taehyung muttered and sighed. Or maybe henis overthinking this and he really didn't do it.

And he saw nothing in that memory, and nothing else happened.

Maybe he should just Trust Jungkook on this and not doubt him. The raven always did good to him. He wouldn't switch up suddenly.

After a while the wizard had taken his shower and the two were having their breakfast.

"how long do we still have to fly?"

"Hmm, well seeing the sun has been set for about a few hours now I think we should arrive well before dawn." Jungkook said while glancing outside.  "once we are back i will feed Zuzu and then we can go back to the city"

"and what happens after that? Are you gonna go to the judges right away?" Taehyung asked while grabbing his water.

"no, we will stay with Jimin for the night and i will go in the morning"

"what about me?"

"i....I'm not sure yet. They might want you to stay or not, it depends. But if this all goes well I will guide you back to the crack and send you off to your own world."

"oh....I see" Taehyung felt a wave of sadness go through him. He doesn't want to go, he doesn't want to leave this place. He doesn't want to leave....Jungkook.

He wants to stay and be with him...But.....He doesn't belong here. He needs to go back at one point.

"Thanks for making the food again. I will go fix my hair now "Taehyung smiled again and left the table after putting his dirty dishes in the kitchen.

He didn't want Jungkook to see him sad. So he decided to go and do his hair. Not that it was a mess, but it could use some styling if he would want to.

Not asking questions, the raven let him leave the room.

"You're stupid for letting yourself like him. Now you got yourself in an emotional mess" he complained to himself with a heavy sigh. He entered the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror.

Wait...

Something wasnt right...

Taehyung leaned closer examining his eyes more closely.

His eyes, they were..Different... They looked... Yellow....
