THE WIZARD [vkook]

26: the Mainland

Somewhere far down walked a man. His steps were slow from the heavy crate he was carrying. When suddenly the ground below his feet started to shake and broke apart. A purple hue came through the gap.

The man yelped and dropped the crate to jump aside and save himself. The gap got bigger and the crate fell into the unknown depth.

When the ground stopped moving, the man approached the gap and looked down. Out of nowhere a hand appeared and the last thing bystanders heard was a scream of terror and pain...

Taehyung was standing at the fence on the side of zuzu her shell. Looking down at the beautiful green land below them.

So, this is what the mainland looks like? It reminded him of his own kingdom.
The thick green forest with taller trees than he had ever seen, a lake with beautiful shimmering water inhabited by smaller sized turtles that grew colourful flowers on their shell.

"They look like Zuzu" Taehyung said and pointed down. Jungkook had come to join him at the fence.

"they are a part of her species family. But Zuzu is part of the bigger one. We call them, TerraWalkers" jungkook said.

"oooh i see. I'd love to see more of these creatures that live here. Its all so fascinating"

"you will get to see a lot more. Once i've spoken with the justice court i will take somewhere where those amazing creatures live. From the mainland all the way to the Floating Grove"

"Floating Grove? What's there?"

"it's also a sky island. Its big, very big the azure isles is one of the smaller lands. But, a very powerful one. The grove to that is huge. But less powerful, the island is mostly inhabited by animals that live in the rainforest nature. The humans are only at the edge and near the center. Separated into two locations on the island. Many cool animals live there. Im sure you will like that place" Jungkook smiled and Taehyung smiled back. A nice comforting silence fell. Both didn't feel weird next to the other. Taehyung was still fond of Jungkook, but he still had to process the whole thing Jungkook revealed to him.

Powers that could kill another being without raising a finger, and then not even remembering it.....It was a scary thought...

Who exactly was the one that murdered this world's Taehyung?...

While he was looking down at the passing land he saw a few houses. It looked like a small village. But...There were no people. The village was abandoned, houses left to rot. Partially broken. Bones of dead animals in their field, through the middle of the village was a thick crack that glowed a faint purple glow from inside. Some houses have started to fall into the gap resting on the last tip of the roof to keep them from falling down.

"Jungkook....What is that?" he asked in a more serious tone. His finger pointing to the abandoned village with death.

"that, that is one of those cracks I told you about. They appear around the land and are breaking it apart. I have no more knowledge of what they are or what is causing them. But so far we think that the world is sick."

"It looks sad...Where did those people go? And... The animals, they just left them"

"i do not know the story of that place. Its one of the first, it's been a long time since it happened. Its story is long forgotten now"

"this world is full of magic, but then we came across this..... I didn't really believe it could be as bad as you said." Taehyung felt sorry for those that lived here when it happened. Did they die? Did they flee? If there are more like this, how many lives did these cracks ruin or take?

"Was this part of the war?"

"I don't know. I don't think so. Others do not possess the power to move grounds."

"Wait, others?"

"Taeyung, look over there" Jungkook said and pointed his finger next to the Prince's face to show him the thing.

"whe-oh wow....That is...Huge" Taehyung gasped, in the distance he saw a big city layered from low to the middle where it was the highest. In the middle stood a white palace that was glowing in the sunlight. And a big golden sun statue was on the top.

It almost didn't look real.

"Welcome to Ouvasta kingdom, we will arrive in two hours." Jungkook then turned around and walked back to the cabin.

"Ouvasta kingdom....it's really going to start now, '' Taehyung mumbled to himself. He had been enjoying the trip. It felt a bit unreal that they were now at the destination. This is where they will find out if Jungkook can get more time to do his thing. But there is still a high possibility that this will fail.

If it does, what happens then?

Would they kill both of them?

Taehyung went back to the cabin as well and asked Jungkook,

"Jungkook, if this all goes wrong. What will happen to me?"

"I will make sure you have a safe escape, you will go to seokjin. He will get you through the crack back to your own world" jungkook reached into his pocket and approached the human. "here, it might be useful some time"

"What's this?" Taehyung looked into his hand and frowned when he saw the whistle Jungkook used to call Zuzu.

"it's one of Zuzu's whistles. You can call her if you ever need to escape the land. She knows the way, just tell her to go 'home' she will take you to Seokjin"

"but... Why are you telling me all this? Aren't you confident it's going to work? Jungkook, you're really starting to make me worry!"

"i can only hope it works." Jungkook sighed and looked out of the window. "This world may look magical and friendly, but it's not only happy faces and colours. This world has dangerous creatures and people who are consumed by the evil from below. This isn't a place for an outsider like you. If i can not protect you, you will have to leave or this place will become your death."

Taehyung didn't know what to say, he just fell silent and stared at the wizard. His view on this world was changing. The cracks, the floating islands, and then Jungkook himself.... There is more to this place than meets the eye.... Dark things...
