Chapter 13
Fifty-five, fifty-six
Falling roughly on my back my chest rises, matching the beats of my frantic breaths.
"Oh god," I mutter forming an X on my chest with my arms as I crunch forward tightening my toes with each thrust of my upper body.
The torture of sit-ups.
Once I sadly but finally reach 100 I flip around letting my pulsating body take in the cold floor. Lazily I lift my body up into plank position breathing in a deep breath and squeezing my eyes shut, my weak arms already shaking as I lower myself.
One, two, three, fouuur, fiiiive, sixxxxx, seee-
Just then my door is thrown open and my arms give way.
"Shizzz," I hiss turning around to pet my jellyfishes.
"Ah!" Mike screams covering his eyes.
"I'm dying," I cry as Mike splits his fingers to peek through.
"Oh you're exercising," Mike laughs as I struggle to stand.
"Yeah," I reply fixing my messy ponytail Eh- big mistake.
"God my pits smell," I cough out being the attractive young woman I am.
"Well I came here to tell you- Jesus woman they do smell!" Mike says pinching his nose as I pass by him.
I chuckle evilly and enter the bathroom with Mike following a safe distance behind.
"I'll tell you when you come out," I hear Mike call out from behind the door.
My back pocket vibrates as I steer my bike with one hand reaching for my phone.
From Mike:
I say talk you >,<
"Forgot he wanted to talk," I mutter to myself placing the phone back in its home.
Dropping my bike on the dirt, I throw open the door to Victor's building and immediately see Luke.
"Hey buddy working out can be a strain huh," I start lamely flexing my invisible arm muscle at the sight of a sweaty and impressively ripped Luke.
"Don't kid yourself," Luke chuckles patting me on the head as he goes up the stairs.
Pouting I silently follow Luke upstairs to his room in the fourth hallway.
"So why are you following me?"
"Well I was going to convince Mary to train me for a little but I saw you and you're a better choice anyways since Mary is the one opposed to it," I say opening Luke's unlocked door.
"Now why will I train you?"
"You should really lock your room that's not safe," I say sitting criss crossed in the middle of the room.
"Chaya I can't train you," Luke started but I stuck out my lower lip and made my doe eyes and he sighed, "fine only for a little while," he replies running his hands helplessly through his hair.
Yes, it's irresistible.
"It's barely been an hour," Luke says pulling me back to my spot as I tried to escape.
"No no more," I cried my poor body running on energy I don't have.
"We haven't even done anything intense yet," Luke says easily lifting himself as I stood by dumbfounded.
"We'll I'm sorry but my body can't do all this karate kid mumbo jumbo," I pout as Luke gives in.
"I guess it's good then because Al will ruin me if she were to find out."
"Try to sound at least a little upset you won't spend time with me," I bat my eyelashes as he burst out laughing.
"Yeah yeah get moving," Luke, says trying to push me out his door.
"So where's Mary?" I ask purposely walking slow.
"She's at Rutherford for a match."
"What! Can I go I want to go?"
"Sorry kid tickets are sold out," a voice says as I stare at Luke's open mouth.
"How did you talk without moving your mouth?" I say staring excitably at Luke when he slaps me on the head forcing me to look forward.
"Oh, So I can't go?" I ask Victor ignoring the fact that he came out of nowhere.
"I was trying to invite you but you ran off and sadly no I didn't save any," Victor finishes giving me a small salute as he continues walking down the hall.
"Aw I so wanted to go," I turn to Luke as he finally succeeds to get me out his doorway.
'Yeah too bad," Luke says semi-sincere locking his door, "Well see you later," he pats my head following Victor's path.
I want to see Mary fight.
Pouting I limp downstairs to where I remember Mary's room to be. I take a deep breath and silently pull the door open as I creep inside making as little noise as possible. Spotting a mattress at the far end of the room, I crouch over to the red spread out fire and poke its bronze skin.
Ray moves around as my poking becomes more vicious when finally, his eyes snap open and he whips around his fist flying above me.
Talk about luck.
"Cool down," I squeal.
"You're dead," Ray growls standing up forgetting about his sleep attire.
One I by the way would kill to forget.
I scream and try to crawl away but end kissing the floor as Ray burst out laughing. I hear the bed creak and a drawer open, my face burning and the fact that my innocent eyes had witnessed that I feel like crying
"Okay, so what are you doing here?" Ray asks as I decide to look up "You pervert," and with that, I burn a whole new shade.
"I'm looking for Drake," I say pouting; something I've been doing way to much of lately.
"Who'da thunk, you are a pervert," Ray chuckles.
I ignore him and get over my momentary shyness and stand up to the view of Ray sitting on the edge of the bed in his boxers.
"Fine, fine that manwhore is at Rutherford Island,"Ray replies a smirk painting his face.
"Why is everyone there?" I shout surprising Ray.
Sorry," I sigh my eyes involuntarily drifting to Ray's nicely formed abs.
"Pervert," I hear Ray mutter playfully and with a wink, I walk out the room.
"Mike your lovely sister has returned," I sing shutting the door behind me.
"You are no sister of mine, you jerk," Mike says and next thing I know a bag is thrown to my face.
Why is it always my gorgeous gorgeous face?
"Ow, what is this?" I say spotting the suitcases placed by the door.
"I wanted to ask you if you wanted to go to Rutherford Island since I already bought the two tickets when I was with Amy but now you have no choice," Mike replies taking the bags out the door.
Once Mike is out of sight I do an air fist bump, "Rutherford Island here I come," I sing jumping into freeze frame.
"Stop being stupid and get in the car," Mike yells and I fall to the ground.
"Yay," I cheer weakly
