Chapter 29

So far training has been torture for a week. But I was strangely getting used to it. So when I woke up this morning I was ready. This isn't how I'd like to spend my Saturdays but it is making me stronger.

"What the hell?" I say confused as I stare at the note on the gym door.

Keep practicing as normal shrimp, I'll be back in the evening

~Drake

"I thought I heard you," Ray says his head popping out of the gym door.

"Are you my babysitter for today?" I ask slightly annoyed that Drake doesn't trust me.

"Of course," he answers as he turns around and sits down on the bench.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't uncomfortable with Ray watching me while I worked out. I wore yoga pants and a tank top but in his eyes I felt like I was wearing less. After probably ten minutes I turned around.

"Okay Ray don't you have something better to do," I say feeling a little fidgety.

Ray was leaned back, a smirk on his face as he watched me. "Nope I'm fine where I am."

I was going to speak but the door had swung open. I instantly started smiling as I saw Mary at the door. Drake doesn't let me talk to others and it felt like forever.

"Mary!" I say and just as I was about to go hug her Ray spoke up.

"Back to exercising!" he yelled still watching me like some kind of pervert.

I make a face and continue kicking the punching bag.

"Lay off Ray you act like Drake's paying you," Mary says coming over to me and hugging me.

Ray makes a face of annoyance but doesn't say anything about it. "So what are you doing here?"

Mary stays standing beside me telling me to hit higher. "Tawnie wanted to make sure you weren't getting in trouble before your match against Supremacy Division."

I can literally feel my ears perk up at the words Supremacy Division. They must be the number one, the ones Victor is trying to beat out in the competition. I glance over at them.

Ray rolled his eyes and laid farther back. His arms crossed over his chest and his upper lip turned to a snarl.

"You tell that bitch I don't need a babysitter," he replies.

I wanted to say tell repeat that to Drake but decided against it. I stopped my practice too catch my breath.

"Whose Tawnie?" I asked and Ray glared at me.

"Victor's niece. I don't think they're really related but she likes to think because he owns this place she does too," Mary answered pushing Ray's face back so he'd stop glaring at me.

"Hey Duck how about less chatting and more practicing," Ray says ignoring Mary who elbowed him.

I look at them a little longer. I should have noticed that they were obviously familiar with each other, I'm a sucker for a good love story so the thought of bad boy Ray and sweet little Mary had me want to squeal.

"I know that look, We've known each other since we were little so stop it Chaya ," Mary says.

Immediately I started thinking of their childhood romance. She laughs at me and shakes her head as I turn around.

"What did you just call her?" Ray said confused, I stop zoning out and roll my eyes.

"Did you honestly think my name was Duck?" I ask incredulously.
