Chapter 5

"Oh no," Mary said. Those two words showed how much she would regret this but I could tell that she knew she there was no way out.

"Important question. Does Victor keep copies of everyone's dorm keys?"

"Of course he does... but you can't seriously be thinking of breaking into his office. He will definitely kick us out," She replied looking over her shoulder as if just talking about it would get her in trouble.

"Well then it's perfect that I'm not an official member and you won't be breaking into anywhere," Mary looked at me questionly. " I swear you'll just casually be my lookout," I replied crossing my heart. I grabbed her hand and pulled her in the direction of Victor's office.

I walked casually through the hall as other people emptied the hall. I snuck a glance over at Mary and she looked paranoid constantly glancing around.

"Oh my god Victor!" I said dramatically as Mary jumped her eyes nearly popping out of her head. I felt her hand clam up as all her face paled.

"I'm just kidding, relax." I said bursting out in laughter.

Mary on the other hand didn't look amused. But she didn't comment and continued walking with me. I started to wonder how Mary fought, but even more I wondered why she was here.

"So Mary, how long have you been here?" I asked curiously.

"About two years now,"She replied. Before I could even question her more we stood in front of Victor's office.

Two years... She seemed super nice it was kind of hard picturing her here for that long.

"Just let me know if anything is up okay," I said pulling out a thin screwdriver to pick lock Victor's office door.

Mary nodded unenthusiastically and casually stood watch on the opposite wall from Victor's office. I quickly snuck in shutting the door behind me. I rushed towards the desk at the end of the room and began rummaging through the drawers. I had already went through his entire desk but there was nothing. Not even dirty magazines, I mean what type of grown man doesn't have those. I moved towards the filing cabinet that was to the right of the drawer and saw files labeled with what I guess was room numbers.Things are never easy for me, I thought to myself while banging my head against the cabinet in frustration.

Achoo! Mary sneezed loudly from the other side of the door and I nearly had a heart attack. Maybe that was my karma.

I had to pull each individual file out and skim through the all the keys, room numbers and names. It wasn't until the fifteenth paper cut did I find one with Al's name on it.

Alison "Al".

I peeled off the key that was attached to the file. All my evil plans ran through my head as I picked up the key and I had to physically stop myself from laughing like a maniac. I was still in my own world and looking through when I heard Mary.

"Hey Victor!," She said raising her voice as she said his name. "I had a question about my fight next week, do you have time?"

For someone who acted so innocently she sounded pretty calm as she stalled. I put Al's file back and started to sneak towards the door but decided against it. There was no way to play it cool as we've learned I wasn't the best liar in stressful situations. Sure I can come up with a lie but 70% of the time I got caught, so instead I ran towards the window. I looked back just in time to see the doorknob jiggle as Victor put his key in. I threw up the window and without a second though O jumped out.

So it may have been the smart thing to do, but that didn't mean jumping from the second floor window wasn't stupid. I rolled in spot as I patted my whole body. It took me a millisecond to make sure I didn't break anything before I hide in the bushes. And from where I was I could see Victor looking out the window in confusion.

I barely had enough time to grab Al's key that I didn't pay much attention to her file. Great, now how am I supposed to know Al's room number.
