Chapter 50
Drake continued to carry me to his truck, even when I clearly told him I was going to leave with Junior I struggled to get out of Drake's grip but he didn't budge. Once we reached his door Drake all but threw me inside.
"God, you're such a dick," I mumbled under my breath as I sat up in my seat.
"Why do you always want to talk about my dick, are you that curious?," Drake replied teasingly and I growled in annoyance.
I knew Drake was just kidding but it didn't stop the heat from forming on my face. My phone pinged and I looked down to see I had a message from Junior asking where I was. I sent him a quick reply back that Drake was taking me home but for him to meet me in room at 9 so we can go to the party together.
"So... I was wondering if you wanted to watch a movie tonight," Drake said cautiously.
I stiffened in my seat but I didn't want Drake to see how uncomfortable I was at that idea. Sure a movie was innocent enough but last time we watched a movie Drake almost took my shirt off.
"I've actually got plans tonight," I said curtly while pushing away the image of Drake's body on top of mine.
"Well I do too, just thought I'd see... we haven't really hung out much," Drake said awkwardly. I smiled as I saw the cringe visible on his face.
"There's no reason to be weird you dork. We are friends." I said reaching out to push Drake on the shoulder. I didn't think much about it, it didn't even occur to me that pushing someone who was driving might not be the best idea.
"God woman, can't you see I'm driving!" Drake shouted as he straightened his truck on the road.
I couldn't help but laugh and I instantly regretted the action as my jaw ached. Drake snorted in response and I glared at the side of his head.
"That guy sure packed a punch," I said pulling down the mirror so I can inspect my jaw. It was a light green color, the skin sensitive to my touch. Now my makeup skills were nowhere near the special effect studio skills of most girls but I knew maybe some foundation could cover it up, it would probably swell tomorrow but for tonight I would hide it.
Drake pulled up to Victor's building and I all but skipped out of the truck. "I'll see you later chump," I yelled over my shoulder as I ran up the road to the front door. Correction - as I tried to run to the front door.
But of course, with my clumsy self, I somehow tripped over some pebbles and found myself falling face first. I threw my body to the side and landed hard on my shoulder to avoid falling on my face. I heard Drake's footsteps next to me and looked up to see him smirking down at me.
"Chump," he said staring down at me with amusement. We both heard the running at the same time and I saw Drake's face turn cold and annoyed as he looked over to who was running to us.
"Chaya, are you okay?" Chase asked running over to me. I internally groaned at his voice and as much as I wished that I could ignore him I knew I couldn't.
For starters I had manners, well I did until I met Drake. Speaking of Drake, He rolled his eyes and did an unattractive snort and walked away leaving me on the floor as he opened the front door.
"What a douchebag," Chase muttered as he helped me up from the floor. He held me up from my arm and I couldn't help but feel the difference between Chase's touch and Drake's. Chase was careful with me, his touch very timid whereas Drake touched me with his rough strong hands.
