Chapter 17

I take a cautious look back and Drake is just looking at me with an amused smile.

"Ridiculous," I mutter under my breathe and I hold my finger out telling him to wait as I weakly walk to the door and leave. Dramatically I go on my knees and crawl around the corner and twist the door knob to Ray's room.

"Now what are you doing?"

"Damn Ray you are so nosey," I say laughing nervously as I go to sit on Rays bed.

"Call me Pinocchio," Ray said with a fake laugh. I ignored his irritated look and moved toward the edge of the bed noticing the towel in his hand.

"I'm on my way to shower make yourself more at home why don't you," Ray says gesturing to his small room as he walks out and into the hallway.

I didn't pay attention to the rooms when I was in Luke's nor when I was in Al's but now I could see that it wasn't that big. All that really fit was a bed that was a little bigger than a twin size that was placed by a sliding window that led out to a very small patio. A tv on top of a small cabinet, one dresser and one nightstand. It was probably half the size of the living room in my apartment.

I half watched the boring history channel on the tv for no longer than five minutes when Drake came waltzing in. In less than a second he spot me and stalked towards me. It could only be described as a lion walking towards a little deer and Drake took up all my personal space as he sat right beside me.

I couldn't move away because I was already squashing myself so hard against the wall that the left side of my body would probably bruise. Drake didn't speak, he didn't move but he also didn't drop that ridiculous smirk he was wearing.

"Um," I coughed to regain my voice and continued. "Do you mind uh moving over a little bit?"

Drake didn't look at me and seemed entranced about a segment on airplanes. I had to admit I was a bit offended that he was ignoring me like he was watching something interesting like two girls fighting in jello.

"Hello," I said but I didn't dare to get up. There was only a small space and I could already tell he wouldn't get up so I could walk through.

"Nah I'm fine here," he finally answered and I pressed my face into the wall groaning in annoyance.

The door opened again and Ray walked in and stopped when he saw us. "You found him," Ray said a huge grin on his face as he made eye contact with Drake.

At this Drake turned to look at me and I really wanted to slap Ray. "You were looking for me babe," Drake said teasingly and I scoffed.

"Of course not I don't even know you," I said but stupid Ray couldn't just let me have this.

"What do you mean? You were bugging me to tell you where he was."

Drake lifted his eyebrow and I rolled my eyes. "No I was not, all I said was that this Drake guy sounds like a douche," I lied but Ray was either to stupid to take a hint or he had it out for me.

"No no if I remember correctly you were begging me to tell you where Drake was and so I told you he was at Rutherford Island and you even went looking for him," Ryan said, exaggerating. I did not beg and now Drake thinks I'm some type of stalker obsessed with him.

"You did?" Drake said questioningly giving me a weird look as he observed me from head to toe. I didn't want to know what he was thinking.

"No you don't remember correctly because Mary invited me," I said glaring so hard at Ray my own eyes were hurting. "I don't know what Ray's talking about," I said to Drake so that he would stop looking at me like I belonged in the insane asylum.

"Ohhhh," Ray said and then he winks at me, right in front of Drake. "Yes I remember Mary invited you," Ray says and he even sounds like he's forcing the lie.

"Y-you I-I'll," I said my face turning two shades red. Annoyed and with no idea what to do next I make a weird growling noise in the back of my throat.

Drake turns and gives Ray a look and I stand up, push Drakes face in so that he falls back on the bed. After I get out of the small space I stomp on Rays foot.

"All I freakin wanted was to have a trainer. I'm done!" I yell throwing open the door and huffing out into the hallway.

So it may have been an exaggeration but I was on the edge of falling asleep and rioting for any cause I seemed to want to fight for. And I was teetering towards rioting against stupid people who can't take hints.

"Hey little stalker!" I heard someone call out and out of habit I turn around and yell "What!"

For the life of me I wished I didn't turn around because Drake was sauntering towards me.

"What do you mean you want a trainer?"

"I want to join," I say but Drake cuts me off.

"You're not already in?" He asked confused looking around as if Victor himself was going to pop out and throw me out.

"No and so I made a deal with Al that I'll win my first match and can join so I wanted a trainer but nobody would and then Luke suggested you-" I rambled but Drake covered my mouth to stop me.

"I've heard enough but sorry the answers no babe," Drake said and he sounded more bored than sorry.

"Then why the hell would you come here!" I ask angry.

Was all this worth it? Most likely no. Is all of this a bit too much for a guy? Or course but I was a hopeless romantic who believed if you wanted love you need to work for it.

"Well I figured I should hear you out," Drake said and under his breath he mumbled "and make sure you weren't planning on raping and marrying me."

I ignored that last part and ran my hand through my hair. "Anyway you'll reconsider," I ask smiling cheekily.

"Nope I'm too busy training myself I have no time to waste," Drake says.

"Well I won't bother you I'll just mirror your workout."

"You're gonna bother me-"

"No I'm not," I argue but Dake just laughs.

"Trust me honey you'll bother me."

"Well what are you training for?" I ask even though Drake is glaring at me wanting to leave.

"For a championship."

I pondered on this for a minute and Drake took that as his cue to leave.

"W-wait," I called out and with an annoyed sigh Drake turns around. "What's are the prizes?"

Cash for first place is 13,000-"

"Well what if you train me and I split whatever profit I get," I said even if it was a long shot.

Drake thought about it for less than a second before he said "nope."

"Oh come on with your training I am guaranteed to win something, right?"

Drake thought longer on the subject and to push him further into it I remembered that he and Al are enemies.

"Plus you'll be helping me piss off Al and make her lose a bet." Of course this coax would only work of Drake is really petty.

"Fine fine we'll train tomorrow," Drake said slightly annoyed and amused.

Thankgod for petty people.
