Chapter 14

Blood.

After the first match the arena was already splattered with blood.

Mary's match was third and the idea of fighting now frightened me more than ever. The stage was designed to different themes by an advanced holographic world and Mary's was a school. The technology was so amazing that every item could be grabbed and used as a weapon just like in real life.

Right now I'm in an underground room with other Class A Victor Division Members watching through a one way glass and TV screens above that close in on every angle.

I asked some random person earlier why we needed the TVs and before I spaced out on him I heard how it was a precaution because people pay to watch this and that it's streaming in a hidden room or something like that.

I look back to the glass and stare dazed as I watch Mary's opponent Jason throw a desk at her as she tries to dodge it. Getting hit by the desk Mary falls and Jason immediately jumps on her punching her repeatedly in the face before she reaches for a textbook and knocks him on the side of the face, pushing him off her.

My phone vibrates and takes me away from the gruesome sight in front of me.

From: Mike

Marco! T.T

Not bothering to reply I place it back glad that I didn't bring Mike. This place was scary.

Looking back at the one way glass, I see Jason swing at Mary but fail as she goes under his arm, kicks his knee in and hold him in a headlock before he falls. Unable to see anymore I decide to look around for the first time.

I walk to the end of the building and after seeing every face to our opponent's division I have to say that they didn't look like pyscho's. With the exception of those with their deadly glare, scowl, and cannibalistic smirk.

"Looks like we got a fresh player here," I hear someone say and slowly I turn to face them.

I jump when a siren blares around the room and give an awkward smile as I look up at a boy who wore a devilish smirk, his long black hair and sharp brown eyes giving away his devious nature.

"So what do you do?" he begins as I furrow my brows in confusion, "You another V-geek? Maybe a cheerleader? Or maybe..." he leans closer to me, "you're the entertainment," he says lifting his brow suggestively as his goons in the back chuckle.

Despite the kids tall stature, it was obvious that he still young and probably around thirteen or fourteen years old. Which would explain why he was hitting on me considering that people my own age think I'm twelve or something.

Scoffing I stay placed refusing to back down, "And what are you the Queen of England? I think not. So why don't you quit this whole pathetic I'm better than you attitude and grow some balls because this is all too played out."

"And from the looks of it you'll know pathetic, huh," he says eying me down.

"Then quit wasting your time with me," I turn around and try to head back when he grips my arm painfully and stops me from moving.

"Did I say I was done?" he roughly yanking me towards him.

"What the fuck man!" I yell my eyes burning in fiery as a sharp pain runs through me.

"That's not the type of language a lady should be using," the tsk, jerking me upward and he grips my chin, "Now be a good girl," he says leaning down trying to crashing his lips on mine but I knew his knee and punch him in the jaw.

Now I'm not a fighter and proof of it is that I want to crawl into a ball and bawl my eyes out because that punched felt like it broke my whole freakin arm and I hurt my own knee in the process.

"You little-" he lifts his hand to strike me but someone grabs hold of his arm and twist's it backwards.

"I've warned you once before Ayden that if you so much as breathe next to my people you'd regret it now are you going to defy me again," Victor snarled pushing Ayden's arm more.

"No no you have my word," Ayden said through clenched teeth the pain written across his face.

Your word means nothing, don't you know that by now," Victor says pulling Ayden's arm into a very uncomfortable looking position and Ayden howls in pain, "Instead show me you understand."

Suddenly a man pushes through the crowd that gathered around us and pulls Ayden up by his shirt.

"Victor I know you weren't stupid enough to hurt my property," the man says calmly as Ayden looks away annoyed.

"If you taught your people manners Marcus then this could have been avoided but I protect my own," Victor says hiding me behind him as Marcus notices me for the first time.

"Now Victor don't be so hostile," he said motioning for me to step forward.

After Victor eyes him cautiously and nods in approval, I move towards him.

"What business does this little thing have here in the first place?" he says his voice remaining the same yet I could feel the disgust.

"I'm not little," I say defiantly as he cocks a brow at Victor.

"Really now, If she's not little why are you fighting her battles for her then?" he ask feigning innocence.

"Does this look like the area to be fighting?" I spoke out, as Marcus looked down at me surprised, "I'm new and even I know that picking fights outside the arena is foolish because after all we handle things more dignified, isn't that right?" I say feigning innocence as he did before.

"Your right," he says looking up at Victor who didn't bother to hide his proud smirk

"So why don't we have you two handle things more dignified?"

"I'll let you know when things open up," Victor replied and after an intense staring contest the two turn and walk away.

I turn back towards Victor's group and spot Mary making her way to me.

"You never have good luck do you?" Mary says as she reaches me and together we walk back.

"It doesn't seem that way but the world is just jealous," I chuckle and Mary shakes her head.

"Oh no," Mary muttered bringing my attention back to her after I was silently cursing the universe.

I look in the direction she was staring at and see Luke pushing through a crowd of bodies even managing to knock over a few as he makes his way towards us. Once he does he grabs Mary's chin and a little too rough for my liking turns her head left and right inspecting for bad wounds.

"I literally begged that geek to ask Ty if he can give you an easy arena but I guess that was too much to ask," Luke rambled while Mary tried to calm him down.

"I'm fine."

"He threw a desk at you," Luke growled angrily.

"It was better than the hospital, the military base, the kitchen, and the-"

"Yeah okay I get it" Luke said defeated finally letting Mary go as she lightly chuckles.

"Why hello there Chaya you're looking lovely," I say after everything settled down.

"How you doing?" Luke replied giving me a small smile.

"I be doing fine thanks for finally asking," I said doing a half smirk, "But I'll be perfect if I were to find a certain person," I hinted.

Luke seemed to think that over and when he understood he thought it'd make sense to say, "Oooh Drake left a while ago," aloud.

"You can't be serious about trying to get Drake to train you. Can't you just get a professional to help you," Mary argued.

"It's not like I'm rich."

"And what you think Drake is going to do it for free." Mary seemed to be able to pick up that I was beginning to doubt my brilliant plan and so she asked the question that without a doubt had the silliest answer, "Why are you doing this anyways?"
