Chapter 16

I got absolutely positively no sleep last night.

Mike surprisingly didn't bug me on our way home but then I guess he noticed that I wasn't myself since yesterday when he tried to make up most of the money he spent by riding every ride in the amusement while I made most of it up by abusing room service.

Cartons and cartons of delicious food.

I sigh into my pillow and close my eyes again, it's becoming a ritual for me to keep going in and out of sleep.

A loud banging had me nearly toppling over the bed and when I turn to see what gave me a heart attack I see Mike on the floor like a turtle trying to put on his socks.

"What are you doing?" I ask my voice hoarse from sleep.

"I have a job interview today I need you to lock up after me," Mike replies finally standing up.

I look over to the alarm clock and start kicking my feet in a fit.

"Dude I'm tired why the heck do you have a job interview so early!"

"It's 1:00 in the afternoon," he replies incredulously.

Annoyed I grab my pillow and throw it at him.

"Real mature." Mike rolls his eyes tossing the pillow back at me, "Anyways does my butt look good in these," he asked honestly turning around.

I sigh and dig my face back into my blanket again.

"Okay be safe, don't do drugs, don't drink, don't invite boys over, don't talk or take candy from strangers, and don't use condoms..." Mike stopped and I look up at him laughing. "I take that back use condoms...no wait don't use condoms, ugh I mean just don't have sex," Mike rambles and to save this from being any more awkward than it was I get up and walk Mike to the door.

"Right, well drive safe and don't worry I'll be a perfect adolescent who stays locked in her room binging on Netflix," I say and Mike satisfied finally leaves.

"Okay time to go to an illegal fight club," I mutter running to my room to get dressed before heading out the door.

After I lock the door I get on my bike and peddle to Victor's building. I pull the door open strangely comfortable enough not to knock like usual and walked to the cafeteria.

After arguing with a lunchlady to let me get a late lunch I finally convinced her and happily stuffed my face as I sat by Mary and Luke.

"Hey guys," I waved.

"Hi, So how did the rest of your trip go?" Mary asked handing Luke her unfinished lunch and he went to throw it away.

"Uh it was fine," I replied hiding my face away as I continued to eat.

"Well what did you and Chase talk about?" Mary asked after a long period of silence.

I swallowed my pizza and could of sworn it suddenly grew three times as big because it hurt.

"You know this and that and how was your trip back here," I asked instead not really in the mood to bring up Chase's confusing conversation.

"It was horrible I hate riding with Victor but we don't have our license," Luke complained which I was glad for since Mary looked ready to ask on about Chase.

It's strange that while she's nice she's extremely nosy.

"Anywho have you thought more about the Drake situation, rumor has is that Victor is gonna sign you to challenge Ayden sometime next month," Mary said and I put my food down all my appetite drained
