Chapter 49

It was the morning of my fight against Class C Kaha and I was extra motivated during practice. Ever since I know learned that I could surpass Al, I was determined to shut her up and put her in her place. Or at least I felt more motivated. Apparently to Drake I was very distracted.

"Duck I swear to god if you don't start focusing I'm going to raid your room and take away all your snacks." Drake said in an irritated tone.

I audibly gasped in disbelief. "You wouldn't," I answered.

"Damn right I will." Drake said and without any warning he threw a right punch and I clumsily stumbled out of the way.

I swear I turned Super Saiyan as I found my footing and charged to Drake strategically. I might watch too much anime. I crazily threw punches left and right. "How is this for focused," I yelled as I continued to throw punches. Drake lifted up his arms to block my hits as I pushed him back into the corner.

He didn't answer me verbally but he swung one arm and catched my right punch and flipped me over, throwing me to the floor- face first. I turned my head to avoid hitting my teeth against the floor. Drake twisted my right hand behind my back and I scream.

"I wouldn't call that focused but reckless," Drake answered, his warm breath hitting the back of my ear.

I groaned in annoyance as I felt shivers go down my spine from the feel of his breath. Drake pushed himself off me and stood up unimpressed.

To be honest I was really nervous about my fight. I felt butterflies in my stomach and I swear I had a reserve of vomit ready to go in the back of my throat.

"Fuck you," I said pushing myself angrily off the floor. All I could do was act like a child. But what can I say, Drake brought out the worst in me.

"Duck calm down," Drake said walking towards. He lifted his hands to grab me and I tried to push him away but he ignored my resistance.

"Close your eyes and take a deep breath," Drake said, being strangely helpful. "You've got to calm down, this fight is no different than all the other ones, okay?"

I didn't listen to him about closing my eyes, instead I stared into his stormy grey eyes. It made me speechless that he knew what was going on in my head, that he understood me, it felt kind of...gross.

"Close them." Drake said sternly. I rolled my eyes but I still listened to him. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I wanted to relax but I felt extra aware of Drake's strong hands on my shoulders.

"There is nothing wrong with lashing punches the way you were, in matter of fact if you try harder to calculate those punches and try to predict my movement you could easily overpower me," Drake said, his voice stern and strong.

I let his words soak in and with my eyes closed I savored the rich sound of his voice. It was times like this that I was really glad that Drake was my coach, in fact if he wasn't such a hot tempered pervert, I would say he would be borderline perfect... as a coach I mean.

I felt my cheeks flush and I cleared my throat as I shrugged off Drake's hold on me. Almost as if he heard my thoughts, he reached over me and smacked my butt hard before saying "Let's try again."

I growled in response to that signature smirk of his. He was purposefully testing me, to see if I would let my temper get the better of me. But personally it was that burning anger inside me that pushed and amazed me.

I bounced on my heels as I stretched my arms out in preparation. Drake stepped back and cockily motioned for me to come at him. I took the opportunity to rush him as he lifted his hands. After all I'd do anything if I can get the upper hand, even is just for a second
