Chapter 32

Drake was surprisingly giving me the week off. It didn't mean as much since it was a school week and I'd only had a limited of time afterwards. On Monday morning I walked into the school with bruises and obvious scratch marks on my face. The teachers and students looked at me weird. I was the quiet student who suddenly came to school looking like I just got out a fight.

"Hey Chaya... you alright?" Sammie a girl I had met last year, sophomore year asked as she looked at me her eyes bulging out.

I looked over at her desk beside mine and gave her an innocent smile. "Yeah why are you asking?" I asked as if the answer weren't obvious.

She stared at me for a very long time as I kept my cool. Then she finally said no reason and looked away. My last period teacher had even pulled me out of class to ask what happened. My reply was that I ran into the street to save a cat and it attacked me after I got hit by a car and died. He didn't find it funny.

"Hey Duck! Wait up," Junior yells after me as I walked down the hall out the doors.

I was surprised to see him in school, it was the first time I'd seen him. I waited by the big double doors as he dragged along his backpack that looked so full the seams looked like they'd rip off. He came to me a little breathless and with a toothy grin.

"Me and Chase wanted to take you out to celebrate today," he said fully knowing that the mention of Chase had my heart going crazy. "He's outside waiting for us."

"Then what are we waiting for?" I asked grabbing his hand and forcing him to rush with me toward the parking lot.

A window of a familiar black car opened and revealed Chase In all his beauty as he smiled to me. A man stood out opened the door and let us in. This was when i again remembered Chase's family was rich.

"Sorry I know it'd be much better if all the council came but Luke wanted to stay with Mary, and well Al just wasn't invited," he laughed as if it were funny.

Little did he notice that Junior was glaring at the side of his head only for it to turn into a smile when Chase looked at him. I of course was happy about that news and wasn't going to pretend not to be. She wouldn't have come even if she was invited besides she would have ruined the fun.

The car pulled up into a beige Italian restaurant that I learned had amazing bread sticks. In the movies where the person eats all the bread sticks is so true and I can see why now. It was soft and salty and oh so delicious I even risked looking fat in front of Chase.

"I just remembered I had something I needed to do for Victor," Junior said panicky. He stood up after eating the main course and looked to me. "Chaya walk me out please."

I was confused that he'd say this normally a woman would ask to be walked out. Chase stood up as I did too.

"My driver will drive you back," Chase said and it sounded like the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

"I'll be back," I say to him before walking Junior out to the front.

Once we were outside Junior glanced back in the Italian restaurant He looked back at me his face serious, too serious for what he said next.

"This is your chance to make Chase fall for you don't screw it up," Junior says his blue eyes looking straight into my brown ones..

I guess I was too caught up that I felt myself get teary at his actions. "I won't let you down," I say and for some reason we grabbed each others hands and nodded. Junior gave me one last look before he got into the sleek black car. I watched the car drive off before I walked back inside.
