Chapter 46

The dungeon was as bad as I imagined. It was hot and dim lighted. It had a red tone to it and as I walked carefully down an ominous hall I noticed there was a fire pit. Luckily it was barred but it didn't make me hate Junior any less. I heard my opponent before I saw him, I vaguely remember hearing the name Hale, I'm pretty sure it was Hell... ironically.

Junior was right about the chains, I would have found it interesting if I wasn't the one in this room. But it looks like there was a hall that connected where I came out and where Hale came out from and it was full of chains.

I chose to hide behind a statue of a guy with a shield. Only good thing about this place was the fact that I was tiny enough to hide still. Hale came out of the hall looking a little annoyed with the chains. He paid close attention to the room but when he figured it was clear he turned around and went down another hall. If I was correct there were only 4 halls, which meant I would have to come out of hiding eventually.

I cursed at Junior inside my head as I slipped out from the statue. I went to the hall with the chains and started making noise. The good thing about this dungeon was it was very echoey. I rushed to corner of the hall that Hale just went into and when he came running out I jumped on his back.

"What the hell?" Hale said startled. But he was quick to hit me against the wall.

I had one arm wrapped around his neck and the other was swinging on the right side of his face. But when Hale got sick of this he reached back and picked me up. He threw me over his head and I landed hard on my back.

I coughed hard as a sharp pain ran up my body. He kneed me in the stomach to keep me in place and swung his right fist at my head. I barely dodged it and with all the strength I had I flipped Hale off me.

I stood up fast and tried to run but Hale grabbed my ankles and dragged me down. I kicked furiously but it was useless. Hale lifted me like I was nothing and threw me a statue that looked like the one I hid behind but it was closer to the door that I came out of. The shield hit my ribcage and I swear I heard some nasty crack. I groaned in pain and tried to get up but I couldn't lift myself. Hale lifted me by my hair and swung me towards the barred pit. I felt the heat as soon as he brought me near it and with a wrangled cry I put my palms out straight to stop him from putting my face on the scorching metal bars.

My palms hurt and it wasn't much of a grip but I couldn't hold the bars or my fingers would touch the fire. I did awkwardly shuffled so I was on my knees and with as much force as I could I kicked my feet against the walls. I used this as my opportunity to punch upwards landing a hit on Hale's jaw. He growled and let go of my hair to punch me in the face.

It hurt like crap but I had to get away from the barred pit, I kicked myself off the wall and stood up so fast I felt everything spin. I knew I was close to knocking out but I refused to with Mike watching me, plus I told my mom I'd be back at my dorms in a couple of hours.

Hale charged towards me and I dodged him by moving to the right. I even snuck in a side kick to the back of his head. He staggered forward a little bit but that didn't stop him. He turned fast his fists ready. I shuffled forward striking the same pose as him. But as soon as he leaned forward I ran down the other hall.

I need a plan fast. The one I had in mind was kind of sketchy, if it worked it'd be an awesome story if not it'll be painful. So when I ran into the hall with chains I grabbed a handful of chains, wrapping them around my fist. It limited my movement but Hale didn't notice what I did. So when I punched him across the face with cold hard chains he stumbled.

As soon as Hale lost his footing I swiped at his ankles. Just as he was falling I wrapped a chain quickly around him. I used two more chains to swing on, the raw skin on my palms stung. With no chance of escaping, I kneed him across the face with my right knee and swung my left leg against the chains that barely held him in place. This caused him to fall face first and just like that he was out.
