Chapter 27
The next morning two strange things happened. One, I didn't wake up grouchy because the stupid alarm that gives me a splintering headache didn't go off. And two, at the foot of my bed was Junior who was staring at his lap.
A little afraid to see what exactly he was doing I reluctantly leaned over him. My hair fell over him and onto my alarm clock which he had broke apart.
"I g-got bored," he stutters nearly jumping a foot away from me.
I snicker evilly as he flushes. He reminded me of the way I was around Chase.
"Would you happen to be in looooove with me?" I say jokingly but Junior becomes serious and walks over to me.
"Never. The girl I love is beautiful, tall, smart, and strong," he states as if he didn't just offend me.
"Alright bud either tell me why you're here or leave before I throw you out the window," I say annoyed as I get up and go to the closet.
"I need you to leave Alison alone, she almost got kicked out of the council because of that fight all you guys had last night," Junior says following me.
I give him a face to back off and he sits back down.
"For your information Al is the one bothering me and why do you even care so mu-"
"Oh," I say smiling evilly. "By the way she is nothing like you just described, have you been cursed?"
Junior looked confused. I walk up to him and point between us.
"You can tell me... are you or are you not in love with Al?"
The panicked look of Junior's face was an answer enough.
"You are!" I say excited and slightly disturbed before he can verbally answer.
It was in my nature to love the idea of love. Without romance this world would be boring. I grabbed my watch and put it on. I stared at the time, 6:30 a.m.. I kept looking at it a little longer feeling like I was forgetting something but the more I thought about it the more it slipped away.
"S-shut up," Junior says launching himself at me but lands on the ground when I step aside.
"Y-you can't tell anyone Alison would be mad again," Junior says picking up his glasses that fell off.
"Again?" I ask helping Junior up.
He shuffles a lot and fixes the pair of glasses on his face and pulls at his oversized t-shirt.The tips of his ears were bright red and so were his cheeks that I just wanted to pinch them.
"Alison doesn't like people knowing I love her," he says hanging his head down like a dejected puppy.
Internally I get angry but I try not to show it because Junior was a bit skittish already being around a girl.
"You've confessed?" I ask. I was expecting him to tell me the story of how she said no and he pissed himself.
"Yes everyday," Junior says looking up and his lips turning slightly in a proud smile.
I couldn't help it. I laughed and patted him in the back.
"Atta boy," I say. But then I asked what I dreaded the answer to. "What does she say?"
"She punches me in the face and tells me to tell no one," he says.
I could already hear the hopeless him inside that was thinking she never really said no. I would do the same if I ever man up to confess to Chase.
