Chapter 28

"You. Are. Dead!" Drake says into the phone and then I suddenly remember what it is I had to do today.

If only I remembered when I wasn't right in front of Victor's building where Drake was currently pissed off and looking between Junior and I. Where Drake was waiting for me, phone in hand.

"Hey Drake what's up?" I say nervously as Drake hangs up his phone and all but stomps over to me.

Junior gets off the bike and helps me as I place the bike against the fence. Before I even really place it down Drake is yanking me towards him and glaring at Junior.

"S-she invited me out," Junior says, scared under Drake's glare.

I would normally tell a guy at this point to grow some balls but I like Junior as he is. Although I do want to punch him for throwing me under the bus.

Drake turns to look at me and I smile uneasily.

"I'm not happy," Drake says lifting me over his shoulder.

Surprised, I make a weird squeaking noise but stay quiet afterwards incase Drake decides to make a scene as we walk in Victor's building. He mutters various curse words under his breathe and he slams the gym door open.

"Everybody get out!" he shouts and everyone in the gym looks peeved as they start to get their things and head out to where the open field was empty.

Now I could see why it was empty for the first time, that was where I always saw people working out. I did wonder why I never saw anyone in here. Once the rooms' clear Drake tosses me backwards and I fall, not expecting him to do that.

"You know this is the first time I've been stood up but it's my fault because for the first time I tried to be someone's friend. Now 200 pull ups, no complaining or I'm stripping you and tossing you outside," Drake says and my eyes immediately pop out my head.

I'm scared and frozen, trying to read if Drake's serious but his poker face is good. He lifts his brows as if asking why I'm not already working out. I was tempted to try out my doe technique but I felt like this would be in the 4.3% of failure category.

"Move it!" he hollers and I jump.

Not wanting to try and test him I move to the pull up bar and let the torture begin. It was going to be a long day. And a long day it was. Chase had tried to see me but when Drake saw him he threw him out and locked the gym.

"Is locking it really necessary people might... talk," I say a little worried about my reputation, it wasn't much but still it was hard to even make one this past year.

"Like I'd do anything to you," Drake says annoyed as he stared at me.

"Okay that's enough." I stand up from the ground my body protesting against the movement but I ignore it. " Drake in case you're too stupid to realize I'm a girl so talking that way... I have to admit bugs me," I say and I only get farther annoyed when Drake looks at me confused.

"Get to the punching bags 30 minutes no breaks," he says looking away as he goes to the weight set.

I sigh and roll my eyes. Nearly a year and he still hasn't changed. I don't know why but it bothered me. I thought we were finally getting along.

"Duck are you okay?" Mike asks through the phone.

I was happy at these moments where Mike couldn't see my bloodshot eyes from my previous hour of crying. All he knew was that my throat was hoarse.

"Yeah just allergies," I say sniffling as I pull my blanket higher on top of myself.

"How have things been going? You doing good in school," Mike asks.
